    Default Cervix length check

I found out last appointment that I need to have an US monthly to check my cervix because I had a LEEP about 10 years ago and I am at risk of having an incompetent cervix. Do you know if that is a transvaginal or transabdominal ultrasound? My sister would like to come to an US with me but if it's going to be a TV ultrasound, I don't plan on inviting her!

I'm pretty sure that it is a transvaginal ultrasound.

It's transvaginal I think, with my first pregnancy they did an early US as routine with first pregnancy to check the cervix for any abnormalities early on and they looked at the length and what not. I didn't have any problems so it was never checked again so I'm not sure how it would work as an ongoing process.

Did you have cervical growths? A friend of mine had abnormal paps and had a LEEP done and it did cause her ot have cervix problems later in pregnancy.. I know she required extra monitoring but she never shared what kind of US she got lol. She had a normal delivery but was put on bedrest at 32W because she started to dilate a little early.

Yes, I had HPV. I had cryotherapy first and that didn't work so then I had a LEEP and have been 100% clear ever since. My understanding is that complications during pregnancy from a LEEP are rare. My sister said my niece had scar tissue on her cervix and it actually made her labor go slower??? I had never heard of that but I think she may have had more than one LEEP.

I HOPE I get to see my baby when they do it! The US tech is really nice so I bet she will let me see it.
