Is anyone interested in having a Never Ending Thread in here? A thread for chatting, or for little things that don't seem worthy of their own thread, funny stories or comments, or things that aren't necessarily even pregnancy-related.

On that note, here's something that's not worthy of its own thread: My u/s is scheduled for a week from today. It seems like a really long time away, and even though I don't think this is going to happen, I have this little fear that I'll go and they won't see anything there.

Another random thing - we've found an upside to all the campaign mail. DD was really excited to get her own mail today. DH handed her a campaign ad and told her it was for her. It made her day to have her own mail.

Yay net. I've always wanted to be a part of one but I feel weird just jumping in others like, on the random page or something. Haha. Try not to worry about the ultrasound! I felt the SAME way before mine and everything is perfect!

I always remember being excited for my own mail when I was younger. Before my mail turned into bills! LOL ah to be young again.

I work at a low income clinic for seniors and today we had this cute man come in (I mean cute like, for a 90 year old... Old man cute) I called him back to the room and he's like "all these sexy women working here!" Ahahaha you can't help but laugh even though he is a horny old man. I love my job.

I work with seniors too - 90-year-olds can definitely be cute! I know one 90-year-old lady with awful dementia, but when she smiles she lights up the whole room. Sometimes she thinks that all the staff around are her kids (she did have a lot of kids), and will pat your cheek or stroke your hair and tell you she loves you. Can't help but say, "I love you too, Mama."

That is so sweet, but at the same time that just breaks my heart. I love old people and really enjoyed working with them. We had a patient that would light up a room. Her skin was beautiful. She never had any children, no brothers or sisters and her husband passed away... She was all alone and would often ask if I would be her grand daughter. It was so cute!!! I don't work there anymore, but miss seeing her.

Anyone else been into sweets lately? I've been really wanting sweets/chocolate for some reason. I wish I could crave salad or something healthy like that...

So tonight I made black bean brownies. They're really good - you wouldn't know they were made from black beans - and I don't have to feel bad about getting my fix. They're about as good for you as a dessert can get. And if you suffer from pregnancy-related constipation, you have a good excuse to really pig out on them. (I don't, though, so I only ate three.)

How hot is it in Florida? I know our humidity level isn't as high as yours but I'm dying in this 100+ degree weather.

I know exactly where Lemoore is. My son had a wrestling tournament there this past year. I've always wanted to live on the east coast. I've never been past Oklahoma/Texas. My aunt actually used to live on VA beach (her hubby is also military). Was always sad I never even got to visit.

Btw, I'm loving this thread too!!!!

It's been in the mid to high 80's, but still really humid. I always get really low blood pressure with my pregnancies, and the heat isn't helping that weird light-headed feeling!

I've been wearing a pair of sweat pants that are cut off into shorts, but they're feeling so tight it makes me cramp so I'm no longer wearing them anymore. My stomach is literally changing by the day. Either I'm really having twins or I'm going to have to have a talk with my uterus. I can't wait to take my 6 week pic on Saturday for you all to see. I'd love to try those brownies. Would you mind sharing your recipe with us?

    Sure! Here you go.

    Blackbean Brownies

    Ingredients
§ 15oz can black beans (I use Eden Organic because their cans are BPA free)
    § 3 Tbsp of oil
    § 1/2 cup cocoa powder
    § 4 eggs
    § 1 tsp vanilla extract
    § 3/4 cup cane sugar
    § 1.5 tsp baking powder
§ 2 tbsp flax seed (optional - but I swear you won't notice it, and it makes the recipe super healthy w/ omega 3's)
§ 1/2 bar of dark chocolate chopped into small pieces or 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips to sprinkle on top (I use chocolate chips, and I don’t measure them, I just sprinkle them liberally all over the top)

    Preparation

§ Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
§ Grease a square baking pan (around 8×8)
§ Drain and rinse the black beans
    § Either:
§ High tech option: Put all ingredients (except the chocolate to go on top) into a food processor and process it until it is nice and smooth (I use this option — less work and easier to get rid of the chunks of bean)
§ Low tech option: Mash the black beans, mix in other ingredients, then use a hand blender to get rid of chunks
§ Pour the batter into the greased pan and sprinkle it with the dark chocolate
§ Bake for around 30 minutes (In my oven, they’re perfect at 32 minutes.)

Okay, I copied and pasted my recipe in here, and it changed all my bullets into these funny symbols. Anyway, I can attest that these brownies have the kid seal of approval. Becca loves them.

Thanks for the recipe. I always wanted to try black bean brownies, but I was afraid I would be able to taste the beans. And nobody wants to waste chocolate!

Thanks for the recipe I may have to try it!!

I am going to my parents today so my dad can look at my brakes ... They have been grinding pretty bad. I hate spending money on my car lol it's such a pos. it makes me mad because I am paying so much for it... And everything breaks. So annoying.

Ugh also dbf and I dtd last night and I had a light pink spot afterwards when I wiped... Talk about a mini freak out. Now every cramp I'm getting is freaking me out. Even though I KNOW it's all normal. Lol

My DH does not like beans, but he loves these brownies - and, yes, he knows they're in there!

I hate spotting. I spotted after DTD (but that takes a while to show up, so not immediately after), and I spot if I have to erm, make an effort for a BM. That shows up immediately. And sometimes I just spot for the heck of it, apparently. It's really annoying. I spotted on and off while pregnant with DD, and that pregnancy obviously went well, so I try not to freak out too much. Try being the key word.

Christiana - at least your dad can take a look at your brakes. He must give you some kind of a discount, right? It is annoying to keep having to do car repairs. Is it an older car? Of course, brakes are a natural wear item anyway.

WOW What a great thread! i love it! i am always just wanting to CHAT about random things! Lol

I am in Staten Island, NY but born and raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn NY - temps are weird right now its cold then warm then HOT but its mainly fall now. Last year on Oct 9th it was 95 degrees! so far so good there! It was a hot one this year...just stinks b/c the mosquitos are out of control so we can never ever sit in the yard at night or as much as we would like to

The brownies sound interesting - i am going to have to try it and give it to the hubby and see if he notices anything different lol

Right now i work in a PR/Marketing firm about an hour away from home and i have already lost interest and on maternity leave lol - oye 8 months to go! LOL

Wednesday night my husband decides to laundry! OYE that is almost a never and if he does its because of me asking him to do a load of HIS clothes - well let me say this he tells me i did a load of laundry - i said ohhh yea why? then i realized before he can respond and said you only did it because you need your soft ball stuff for tomorrow so he starts to laugh - little did i know my clothes were involved and when i got home from work 5 of my shirts were shrunk! MY ONLY shirts that would probably last me until maternity clothes take action lol - i couldnt even be mad because he did do one load which was one less for me but i was screaming inside lol

Thanks Kate for the recipe!!! I am going to have to trick my husband and teen boys to see if they notice! Ha!

Christina, you're very lucky to have your dad handy to help with your car. I can't believe how expensive the labor is on car repairs.

My husband does laundry every once in a while. I actually try to have it done before he gets a chance to avoid problems like this. He has washed my dry clean only clothes and he always seems to was a towel in the load. I do not wash any towels with clothes. My mom of all people was turning my whites pink when she was doing my laundry, because she always threw everything in together.

Any fun plans this weekend? Has everyone shared their pregnancy news with the family yet? I accidentally spilled the beans to my mil. We were trying to wait to tell her until after my ultrasound next week. Oh well! She was so excited that she started crying! I haven't announced it to my aunt or uncles yet, but will probably do a nice big Facebook announcement after next week!! I'm so looking forward to it!!!

we found out we were preggers on the 13th and i only told my sister in law (married to my bro also my husbands sister) b/c we always talk about it and she is trying too. But we announced to the grandparents on my sons 2nd birthday as his gift from us type of deal and then to the rest of the family at his second birthday party on the 22nd - work are the only ones who do not know but i will once i have my US

We haven't told anyone yet. Definitely can't tell my 3 year old because he will tell everyone that we see! He has been telling me for the last 6 months that he is praying for God to put a baby in my belly.
I am kinda cautious due to a previous loss, so we likely won't share the news until after 12 weeks.

My car is a 2008 saturn vue. I wish I hadn't gotten it but now with the baby coming it works out because it has such a high safety rating, it just needs some repairs, which will probably happen come tax time!

Dbf always does laundry. Lol I hate it. But I fold because he is terrible at it lol!

My family knows already. It's their first grand baby and they are so excited !!

Hey this thread is great!! I guess I´m the only one international, I´m from Paraguay, South America!! I used to live in the US (lived at Miami, DC, NYC and NJ) but moved back home 2 years ago, I did my residency in Pediatrics up there!

Those brownies sound so nutricious, but just be honest, is it not a little weird? Blackbeans with chocolate? I have not seen these before, and will have to try them!

My new obsession is homemade ginger ale, it´s so good and refreshing and good for upset stomachs too!!
