What if my baby is in daycare?

I want to save money and waste on diapers but I will have to work atleast part-time in order to carry health insurance for me and the baby (DH employer's insurance is too expensive) and baby will be in daycare. Is it at all possible that a daycare, probably a home daycare, will be on board with the cloth diapering process?

There are plenty if babies in Liam's daycare who wear cloth diapers.

It is possible as a general rule but you need to ask around and see whether the daycare you can afford will do it for you. The daycares around us who do CD are very very pricey.

Ours had central policies that only allowed them if there was a medical reason. It was part of their certification requirements, not a local decision. Especially with an in home provider though, I think your odds are good. The easier you make it for them the better. Pockets or aios and let them put soiled ones in a bag to deal with at home.

Our center told us they would work with us. I decided on pockets for them because they are easer to clean up. We have to provide a wet bag and several premade diapers everydays. The Deoartment of Human Services says they cannot have human waste in a place where it can be a hazard. So they can't rinse diapers or anything like that. I'm looking at the GroVia with the disposable liners to be able to wash the poop out easier after it has sat all day. The wet bag zips and hangs so they won't have to worry about containing the mess.

Mine does them. We use Kindercare actually, I send in a wetbag each day with clean diapers for the day. Then I bring it home each day, they will dump the poop but not rinse but they are good about just putting a poopy diaper in a plastic bag in the wetbag. I use pockets and AIO's so that it is easier for them to use. I ran across a link in FB that you could search centers that will use cloth. After DD goes to bed I will see if I can find it again and post it for you.

We also daycare in cloth. I bring a wet bag and several pockets already made up. All they can do is put the dirty diaper in a wet bag. I pick it up everyday and then unstuff and rinse the diapers. Every day care is different. One wouldn't put them in a wet bag, but would individually wrap in plastic (what a waste!). Just ask around. When I had a nanny, she would unstuff and put in the pail. You should be able to find something that works. I agree with making it easier for the provider by using aio or pockets. Good luck

My daycare has used cloth for over 3 years now. We send stuffed pockets/aio's every day and a wet bag. They just stick the dirties in the bag and we take it home every day. It's worked great for us. Not every daycare will do it, but you should be able to find one that will.

This must be an individual center decision, because we use a Kindercare, too and they refused to do cloth.
OP using cloth part-time is an option, and will still save you money. We cloth at home and they put disposables on her at daycare. We've still payed for the cloth twice over in the first year.
