Default I have a lack of appetite with a 2 week old

I have a two week old and we are BFing on demand. I have a total lack of appetite. I feel like I have to remember to eat or else I would just forget. One of the only reasons I am eating is that I have to feed the other kids. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am getting adequate sleep with having a newborn. (She is predictable and will sleep 2-3 hours at a crack which leaves me with about 6 hours a night--totally normal for me.) I spoke to my OB about this and he said not to force myself to eat just make sure I drink enough. I recall with the other three I was starving all the time. This just seems odd and out of place. Has this happened to anyone else before?

yes! i would force myself to eat since I would notice a dip in my supply. When that happened, I would force myself to eat oatmeal and bananas...something really easy and healthy.

I would try to eat healthy stuff to but drinking is so important. I'm guessing she's gonna hit her 2-3 week GS and your appetite will pick back up. Maybe just grab a granola bar, lactation cookie, or a handful of nuts while you are nursing. Something small but with plenty of protein.

It is normal to lose your appetite after giving birth whether you are nursing or not. I never had an appetite after a birth for about a month or 6 weeks. I would just set a timer for every couple hours and make myself eat something even if it was a peanut butter sandwich.

Thanks for the responses ladies. After foUr births, this is just weird for me. I remember being completely starved for the first three. I guess I am going to take this as an oppurtunity to really assess what I am putting into my body and hopefully start my "new life" on a better foot eating wise.
