    Question Am I pregnant?

My husband and I intercourse on 8/10, 8/14, and 8/17. My period was due on the 17th and I didn't end up getting it until the 19th. I did have cramping, and some strange discharge (tmi, I'm sorry!) My period ended on the 24 and we had sex again on the 25, and 28th.

Since probably 8/30 I've been experiencing cramping in both sides of my ovaries and my lower back, on the 30/31 it was the worst, I was on the couch and didn't want to move! I've also been experiencing some pretty uncomfortable breast pain for the same length of time. I have been getting nausea, and very frequent headaches as well as some cold symptoms and strange taste on my lips on certain days.

Ovulation for me started on 9/5 and I'm still experiencing these symptoms. I'm still quite crampy and have that dull lower back pain and my breasts are still very sore and my urine has become quite yellow. I did take a pregnancy test about 4 days ago and it was negative, my period is not due until the 19th so I'm assuming maybe this was too early?

Could I possibly be pregnant? Or am I possibly just giving myself the symptoms of pregnancy because I want it to happen so badly?

    Thank you!

Do you know for certain that you ovulated on 9/5 (i.e. were you temping, doing opks, etc?). Your symptoms sound ovulation-related to me. Did you have sex on/near the 5th? Sperm can live at most 5 days (in optimal circumstances), so unless you had sex closer to your ovulation date, my best guess would be ovulation symptoms. You may also want to get checked for infection or other issues if your pain and "strange discharge" continue. Also, if you were to have conceived on the 5th (when you say you ovulated), you wouldn't be having symptoms this early. The body needs to go through the hormonal changes from implantation before you experience pregnancy symptoms, and implantation generally doesn't occur until shortly before your next period would start. If you ovulated the 5th, I'd say the earliest you'd be likely to experience a definitive positive on a pregnancy test would be the 17th.

You can probably take a pregnancy test now and see what it says.
