Finally got approved for a program out here in California!! Called AIM (access for infants and mothers). I gave up my med. insurance when I became a SAHM and put the kids on Healthy Families (Kaiser)...Thank goodness they have Kaiser as a provider! I've had all my pregnancies, losses, and deliveries with them I have nothing but awesome experinces.
I have been pushing to get the AIM cleared since I was like 6 weeks pg, and it just went through and coverage starts the 15th of September. Unfortunately, Sunday the 16th is the last day For me to do the 1st trimester prenantal screening and N/T scan and it looks like that will not be happening. I was unable to get a 1st visit appointment until Sept. 25 and when I told the receptionist that I really wanted to try and be seen for bloodwork and N/T scan on the 15th she siad she needed to consult her supervisor....then told me that it was an unnecessary procedure for me and I could talk to the doctor on the 25th about my concerns.I dont have any concerns, its just an *optional* but pretty standard procedure I've had with both my kids. I like the heads-up and preparedness the tests can provide.
Anyway,YAY for Insurance with my normal providers...BOO for receptionist and poor timing on insurance approval not providing adequate time for 1st tri screening.
