Positive hpt after short period...pregnant?

I'm 38 & ttc for the first time. I normally have a 24 or 25 day cycle. Last month, my boyfriend & I bd on days 10 & 11. I got a positive OPK on day 12. Pretty sure I felt ovulation symptoms on day 13. The next week I had all types of early pregnancy symptoms (nausea, cramping, lower back pain, headaches, & more emotional).

Normally, my period is light for one day, heavy for three, light for one, then spotting. So, on d23 I had some brown discharge, d24 light bleeding (mostly spotting, didn't fill a reg tampon), d25 medium amount of bleeding (two reg tampons, but 2nd was mostly brown), d26 brown discharge.

I assumed that I had my period, but now I'm not sure, maybe it was implantation bleeding. I still felt pregnant, if that makes any sense. I started having light cramps again (6 days after this weird period started, two days after it finished). I took a hpt and it came back positive.

So, am I pregnant or was there just enough pregnancy hormone left over from being pregnant for a couple of days to make the test show positive? Of course this would happen on a holiday weekend, I'm going to lose my mind waiting to call my doctor's office on Tuesday.

Sounds like your preggo to me. I'd retest in the morning or anytime to confirm your pregnant. If you had an early miscarriage you would most likely have lots of bleeding (bright red) with clots (sorry if that is TMI). Some women have spotting throughout pregnancy.
Your doctor will test your hcg levels for a couple days to make sure they are going up. It would be possible to still have hcg in your system as everyone is different for awhile. I saw my doctor abt 5 days into a miscarriage (abt 2weeks after missing my period) and my hcg was at 0 when they tested. But I have known other APA ladies who had to wait a month or so for it to clear out of their system.
Sorry, I can't definitively help you one way or the other, but TTC isn't clear cut. Each of us is different. When I had my miscarriage my OB said that we now knew I could get pregnant which we hadn't known that before so even if that is what has happened its a good sign in some respects. It took us a year, but the next time we were pregnant was with these twins I'm ready to deliver any day.

Sounds like you're pregnant to me as well. I would wait a couple of days and test again. Or, call your dr on Tuesday and have them order a blood test. Good luck to you!!!

Sounds like your pregnant to me. I had lots of brown discharge and so e bright red spotting around 5 weeks when my period would have been a little late.

Sounds like you're pregnant to me! Maybe test again tomorrow and see what happens, and then call your doctor on Tuesday. Best of luck!

Light bleeding is common is early pregnancy it sounds like your pregnant. Take another test in a few days and then if its positive again then head to the doctor.

I guess this time was not meant to be. Yesterday I tested and the line was fainter than it had been before. This morning the line was gone completely so I did a second test with one of the digital tests & it came up "Not Pregnant."

I'm trying to stay optimistic. Before this I wasn't even sure if I was actually ovulating, so at least I know that that part is working. I have to assume that there was something wrong with the egg and hope that this month will lead to a healthy one. Fingers crossed that everything works out the next time around.
