BFing @ 16mos, 2nd PP period late by 4 days, 2 BFN w/ Sure-Aid HPTs
I know it's common to have irregular cycles when BFing, but I'm still wondering if I could still be pregnant... With DD1, my periods returned when she was 6 months. We BF till she was 22 months and from that first PP period I was always regular, give or take a day or two.
Well last Wednesday through Friday I had really bad period cramps, just like I had before last AF came. I also had an abundance of cervical mucus/fluid from Thursday-Tuesday(yesterday). It started off really watery; and then by Sunday through Tuesday was just like my mucus plug with DD2. The only I time I ever recall seeing mucus come out like this was when I was expelling my mucus plug for the last couple weeks with DD2. Another strange thing, yesterday morning- I had a spot of pink blood on the toilet paper when I wiped after my FMU. It was maybe a centimeter in size- small, but definitely there. (DH and I DTD the night prior to this spot of pink.) I've also been feeling vaginal aches for the past week...
So I asked DH to pick up a few Dollar Tree tests on his way home last night... and he picked up 2 Sure-Aid HPTs from Big Lots. The box says "Compare to EPT" and it's a pink dye line test. I looked online pretty hard and can't find how much mIU of HCG these tests measure. But according to peeonastick.com, the EPT line test measures 50miU. I took one of the tests with not FMU last night- BFN. I took one this morning with FMU- another BFN.
My main question is whether or not anyone know what the sensitivity of the Sure-Aid HPTs are? Then of course -the impossible to answer question- does it sound like I could be pregnant? (I really shouldn't even bother asking though, because I know what I would say to myself... "Yes it's possible. Retest with FMU in a couple days with a FRER or a Dollar Tree test if AF doesn't show.")
PS- Only form of BC we use is the pull out method... sometimes...

Reason: (Oops she's 16 months, not 18 months)
You can get pregnant while breastfeeding if you are not taking any precautions to prevent pregnancy. You go wait a while and retest.
Yeah... I tested with evening urine using a dollar tree test last night and it was bfn. Still no period though. Maybe my cycles are just still regulating... But, assuming AF hasn't come by then, I'll try to hold off testing till next Monday or Tuesday. That spot of blood I had the other morning was out of the ordinary for me, so I'm wondering if it was IB.
Even though your cycle regulated pretty soon after your first pregnancy, I'm thinking this is just different this time around. However, if that spotting was IB, I'd wait a week after that day and retest.

Thanks! That spotting paired with the CM though... I wonder if it was just that I ovulated later than I expected because my periods are still regulating? In the past I've always ovulated late in my cycle, but never THAT late. Oh well... I'll just try to stop thinking about it. And to think, I had been so excited when AF came last month! I thought I'd finally be regular again and not have to wonder if my period was just missing due to BFing or because I was actually pregnant
I'm pretty sure I started my period this morning. It started off light with just brown spotting but it has gotten more red since then.
I never knew much about ovulation signs and charting until looking into it sometime after giving birth to DD2- so I wasn't sure how easy it would be to tell when I was ovulating based on cervical changes. But in light of this past month, it seems it is extremely obvious when I'm ovulating! So I'm really excited about that because I've been hoping to be able to naturally keep track of when I ovulate, as a Natural Family Planning type thing. (And since we're not actively trying to conceive right now, I'm not too worried about the short luteal phase I had this month- which could have just been due to the BFing.)
