    Default My Busy Book (pics)

I posted in here a while ago asking for ideas for busy book pages to make for my daughter. I had a few really nice responses (especially from 3andMe, who generously took the time to take pictures of her kids' busy book! Thank you again!). I said I would come back and post pictures when mine was done. I would have posted them in the craft area, but that is gone now, so I'm posting here. It came in very handy on our cross country round trip this summer. I also made a smaller, more simple one for the baby, (mostly texture type pages) but I didn't post any pics of that one other than the cover. It was a fun project. Challenging to figure out how to make it mostly out of fabric and accessories I already had. Anyway... here it is!

The covers. Not great quality photo, sorry.

Marble Maze (marble sewn in to the fabric. Goal is to get it from the top to the bottom)

    Scotty Dog. Unclasp the leash.

    Pretend to Paint

    Abacus

    Treasure chest. Key and lock.

    Finger Puppet Barn

Love them! My girls are quite a bit older but they still LOVE their busy books-I have an abacus page and a maze similar to the marble one but with a magnet in there and another magnet attached to some yarn that you use to pull the sewn-in magnet. These kinds of books are great because they really access the imagination and it's fun to watch how their play changes with them over the years!

Oh, the magnet idea is awesome!
That is neat to hear that the way they play with them will change over the years. I hadn't thought about that!

Ha! Tell him it would cost him more than a sewing machine. It was a lot of time and work! lol
