    Default Apt today.

I went in today for my weekly shot, and talked to the nurse about some contractions/ cramps i've been having. She talked to the doc and went ahead and checked my cervix with an ultrasounds. It looks like my cervix has started to thin. It measured at a 3.5, which according to him isn't anything to worry about yet. He said if it get's under 3cm then they will do something about it.

I'm kinda freaking out because it just seems wrong to wait until something get's worse before you actually do something about it..I would like to be a little more proactive. I'm going to get a second opinion on Wednesday. I hope after wednesday i get some answers

I'm sorry for what you're going through. I wanted to offer my support and a big . Are you on bed rest now? What are you supposed to do differently from day to day?

No bed rest, the doc told me to take it easy. Which is almost impossible to do with working full time, a 2 year old and a deployed husband. I just really don't like my doctor's attitude of the wait and see if it gets worse...it just doesn't seem right.

I am hoping seeing another doctor will give more answers and make me feel a little better about the whole situation.

I'm glad you're seeing someone else tomorrow. I agree..... something seems off with that other Doc.

No, our base here doesn't offer medical for pregnancy. They pretty much only have medical for the marines everyone else has to go off base.

I went to my apt today. This doctor was much nicer and communicated a lot better then the other doctor. He did agree that there wasn't much that can be done at this point to prevent anything, but he is going to keep a close eye on me. He wants to see me every week. He seems optimistic that everything will be fine. He things right now the biggest problem is my situation, with working full time, taking care of my son and all of his apts for speech therapy, and my husband being deployed. He said pregnancy is hard enough and adding that on top takes a toll on your body. I told him i would try to take it easy but obviously that is difficult. He showed me some things I can do to help with some back pain I have been having and because he thinks my cramping is related to my back pain he things that will help everything.

He was very nice and made me feel a lot better. I was in there for 30 minutes talking to him about everything and i didn't feel rushed at all.

Sounds like a great Doc! I'd be relieved too with all that information, in stead of what that other Doc vaguely told you.
