Default No idea on how to chart this disaster

Many of you know that I recently discovered I m/c this last Thursday. This whole last six weeks has pretty much been a mess.

    7/8 AF arrives
    7/23 I ovulated
8/4 12 dpo I begin bleeding and proceed to bleed for several days, but it's not a normal period. A light period for about 5 days. This prompted me to continue POAS'ing at least on opks. Used a pregnancy test on CD "5" and it came back negative.
8/11 What I thought to be CD 8 I used an opk and it came back blaringly positive. Used a pregnancy test and it also came back very positive.
8/12 Began bleeding, but not enough to use a pad.
8/13 Went to the ER. Ultrasound turned up no gestational sac, 8 mm lining, no free fluid, no cysts. Beta 32.
8/16 Repeat Beta came back at 12

Tonight my opk is positive. Pregnancy test definitely negative. I have no idea how to chart any of this. Seriously have never been here before in the 2+ years of ttc.

I would chart just as you have described it. Look at it and see what FF says or you can just count every instance of bleeding as CD 1. Your body might be messed up for awhile. I had some wonky cycles after my miscarriages.

I guess I would just chart the last time you had bleeding requirig a pad/tampon as cd1. And make the last cycle from july end there. And then go from cd1, and put in this last positive opk. Are you temping? That might show if you actually ovulate with this opk.

And I am so sorry about everything you had to go through!
I hope you get a little sticky bean soon!

Been down the temping road and I'm not going back. I spent a year temping and very rarely did I see a clear pattern in my temps.not to mention my sleep patterns are not terribly regular enough for temping. DH works nights and I sleep some at night and then more in the morning until I have to go to work. It's been a very up and down cycle disaster that's for sure.

I had a cycle like this, unfortunately. Untimately, I called the first day of bleeding (eventhought it was followed by a BFP and eventually a negative) CD1 and the cycle that followed was just wonky. You could also just call all those days spotting and the next day of full flow as CD1, but honestly, you were likely already in the process of a loss with the first day of bleeding

Ok. I was thinking of doing this, but I wasn't sure so I figured I would ask you ladies. Even with my other m/c I never had to question anything this much. Which first day of bleeding? There were just so many. Ok well two first days.

given the negative tests following/during the first set of light bleeding, I would call that implant bleeding (so spotting on yuor chart) and then the first day of bleeding followinf the BFP as CD1. IDK, it's hard to say and honestly... it doesn't really matter too much which day you choose since your next O will likely be off from normal. So, if you were to get pregnant this next O you would need a dating u/s to get a good EDD (which is really the only reason LMP matters to doctors)

Kinda what I was thinking. I've got it to where CD 1 is The 12th. Thanks Robin.

I agree. I would chart the bleeding on 8/4 as spotting, with CD1 as 8/12. And this cycle will just be crazy so might not be worth your while to chart.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. After my 2 m/c's last fall/winter, I had bleeding off and on that confused me too. I agree with CD 1 as the 12th.

Honestly, I wouldn't chart at this time. It's hard to separate out what was AF, what was spotting before m/c, and what was bleeding from the m/c in some cases. I just went through the same kind of thing myself. A cycle after a m/c is going to be wacky, as others have said. I would take a short break from the charting, wait until you have another period that you know for sure is really AF, call that CD 1 and start charting again. A m/c is stressful enough as it is, I don't want to be stressing about figuring out cycles and charting right now...
