    Default Adoption negativity

So my husband and I have struggled with fertility a long.... time.. I've endured years of women at my job being pregnant and discussing every detail of their pregnancy...
Im a teacher and sumtimes there were 3 or more people pregnant at once.. I was always trying to be happy but I was sad the first dozen times for me and my husband.

Most times I cried alone in the bathroom and pulled it together sumhow.. Two years ago I had a surgery that was going to increase my fertility but instead it totally took away the eggs I had left.. I was told my body went into menopause.. I hate Endometriosis!!!

So we are adopting and now its time......!!!!!!! a mom has chosen us!!! and we have a few things left to pay and we know the date of the C section..

So today a pregnant lady at the job was talking about her baby due date, so I told her my hubby and I were adopting and my child's due date and she got this weird look on her face.. and just clammed up!!!

Not the reaction I was looking for!!! No congrats!!! ooooo...ok she said...wow...why does that hurt so much!!!

I totally know what you mean. My husband and I tried for years to get pregnant with no success while it seemed.like.every couple around us was pregnant or had started their family. Then when we found out we were chosen to adopt we started telling everyone. Even members of our family just shrugged it off like it was no big deal. It hurt so bad to see my dad look at me like I had finally lost my mind just because I dared to get excited when nothing was final yet and so it could still not happen. Mostly when we told people, it just fell flat. I am totally excited for you though and I will be praying daily for you until you have brought your little one home

I'm excited for you! I hope everything goes perfectly. We've run into this quite a bit with the adoption of our first and now waiting for our second. People don't know what to say...I agree it sucks. Just focus on how amazing things will be once the baby is home (this doesn't mean people will stop saying stupid things though...we ran into our fair share of comments when we brought our LO home.) Just good luck and chin up mama...it's all worth it when you bring your little bundle home.

    PM me anytime!
    Jess
