    Default Bed Rest

So yesterday I was checked into the hospital my cervix had thinned in 4 weeks from 4cm to 1.5cm. Today I'm 29weeks. So far I'll be here till Monday and they will recheck my cervix. I'm having contractions, but irregular like 3-4 an hour ( Braxton Hicks). Anyone else had good results after a thinned cervix and bed rest?

Wow...1.5 is really short. In total honesty I would not let them send me home...you need to be on bed rest. Thankfully at 29 weeks you are getting into a safer zone for the babies, but if you want a few more weeks I would stay put. Good luck!

And my OB is looking for some regrowth in order to consider sending me home. My family and DH want me to just stay here regardless. I just want what's best for the babies and think I probably am safer here. I would love to cook them for 6 more weeks but would take 3

I was in the hospital(not for cervix issues) from 28 weeks until i delivered at 32 weeks.... It sucked but was what was best for the babies. Just make sure You are at a hospital with a good NICU.
Try to put the ounces on the babies while you can and ask for the steroid shots(they are good for two weeks) eat lost of protein(hospital food sucks ask around to find out who delivers to the hospital) or have family bring you good home cooked food. And have them bring you boost to drink(3 a day inbeteeen meals is how I did it becasue they filled me up) the more the babies weigh the easier it will be to transition them from incubator to open bed. They have to be a certain weight(like Around 4pounds) to come out as long as they keep their temps up. Good Luck!!! I must agree though... Bed rest inpatient I the best for you! I met a girl when I was inpatient they finally sent her home at 29.5 weeks and she didn't make it to her house before she went Into active labor and was over an hour away from the hospital when she got to the hospital and was fully dialated when they may have been able to stop her labor but had to do an emergency v section instead. Her babies are good now but th what Ifs suck!! Good luck to you!!I really hope you can keep the kiddos in a few more weeks at least!!!

I would definatly fight for them to keep you there. I had absolutly NO labor or sign of labor and was measuring 4cm at my Dr. appointment the Tuesday before I had my girls. I went from the 4cm long cervix to 100% and 4-5 cm dialated in a matter of 5 hours...

Thanks ladies! They are keeping me here as my cervix has shortened a bit more and they want to monitor me. If my cervix stabilizes sometime after 32weeks they will consider sending me home at that time

Cervix keeps thinning, but the doctors are pretty confident that we will be able to stall labor until around 34 weeks. I sure hope so and it looks like I'll be here for the long haul!
Thanks for the well wishes...they are really appreciated!
