    Default Help??

My husband and I just started trying to have a baby. I was on birth control and stopped it immediately (with my dr's permission) and had a period. We started tracking my ovulation and had intercourse when I was fertile and ovulated. I was supposed to start my period yesterday (August 11th) and it never showed. Today is day two and still nothing. I can usually tell when my period is going to start but have had no signs. I have take 6 home pregnancy test and they are all showing negative. I have had one previous pregnancy (my son is now 2) and I had no idea I was pregnant. No symptoms or signs. I was 5 1/2 weeks pregnant when i found out. The problems presenting now is I am extremely nauseous, tired, peeing a lot, been craving things, my head feels like it's swimming, occasional headaches, light cramping for about 1 1/2 weeks, and i have broken out a lot. Which never happens. My breast have not hurt at all but i don't member them hurting with my son. I am just wondering if that has happened to anyone else? Maybe you can give me some insight and help??

My only suggestion would be to wait a few more days...maybe a week...you could have miscalculated when you should have gotten AF...or maybe, its just wacky since you recently off birth control. Either way, I'd say wait at least a few days and test again. If its still negative and still no AF, I would let your dr know whats going on. Good luck.

Thank you. I am going to wait another week and see. My doctor even helped me calculate it when i saw him last. He told me what day i was supposed to ovulate and when my period was supposed to start. I also use an app on my cell. When I got pregnant with my son I never had a period. I had just gotten off the Depo shot. So that's why i'm at a lost. All previous times i was not on birth control i have started my period at least a day to 2 days before it's supposed to start.

How are you tracking your cycles? Is it just with the app, or are you also temping and/or using OPKs?

If you know for sure you ovulated, I would say there is a good chance you might be pg, but if you are just going off the app without confirming that you did actually O this cycle, the symptoms you are experiencing could just be your body adjusting to being off the birth control. You may not have ovulated yet at all. It can take several months for your body to regulate, and a calendar isn't likely to account for the changes in your cycle without birth control.

No I was tracking it myself. I even went to the doctor before I got off birth control and he told me to stop it that day. So I did. I went back a few days before ovualtion and he told us about the time i should ovualate. I have never been late even after getting off birth control. I have quit birth control once before when I was unable to pay for it and never had anything like this happening. I just got the frist response pregnancy test that has a digital test and line test in it. I will take one of them tomorrow morning.

Let us know what it says. If you tracked your temperature and saw a definite temp rise, and now you're late and having symptoms they could be pg symptoms. Sometimes people don't always get a positive test right away.

How did the doctor tell you that you were going to ovulate (an ultrasound to see mature follicles)? How did you determine that you did in fact ovulate (OPK testing, basal temperatures, ultrasound, progesterone testing)? If you haven't had or done any of that, you don't really know if you ovulated this cycle. Many women have crazy cycles after birth control pills.

I do hope that you did however and that you are late because you are pregnant.
