Default Can a blood test be wrong?

I had my last period in the 16th of june, i have 35 days cycle, on july the 15th (29 days CD) i had a slight spotting that lasted 2 days, AF hasn't appeared till now. I have a 4 cm ovarian cyst (functional). On the 4th of Aug i had a home pregnancy test which showed a faint positive result.it was faint..but it was there..i had a blood test the same day but they postponed the result from saturday to monday, monday morning they said the result is not ready, and to re-call at 12 pm,we did and they said call at 3 pm, again they postponed it till 4 pm when they finally said it was Negative. I want to ask can a blood sample be held all this time before HCG testing was performed? Or is it reasonable to take all this time? Can the blood lab test be wrong or it's just the HPT showed a false positive and not a real positive? Please help

I'm not sure but I would have to wonder about it if that's how they treat you. Why would they make you wait that long, it's unreasonable if you ask me! They waited two days and then you had to call back three times!! If they are so unorganized or busy, then how can you be sure of their accuracy either? I'm not sure if their incompetence actually effects the results, but it makes me wonder and frustrated for you!!

I would wait a few more days and then re-test.

It is completely unprofessional to treat a patient this way! I would be looking for another lab personally. Def test again and KUP!

I'd test again tomorrow morning. A blood test can't be wrong, but I wouldn't trust this lab to not have mixed up your results, somehow.

I have to say I have an 18 year old negative blood test, I would def poas again and if that's a positive find another dr. I went 2 weeks later to see dr. For something not pregnancy related and was told by urine that I was indeed pregnant I argued it made them run the test again and she is now 18 you could have thrown me for a loop when it hit me that my blood work was wrong.
