    Default Really?!? Kinda OT....RANT

My 3 year old has lice I read a friend's post on FB on our way to school and thought MAYBE I should check Kayla, even though they have not been around for weeks our neighbors kids keep getting it OR never getting rid of it. Sure enough, I saw 3 crawlers and tons of eggs....grrrr. Her school director is super sweet and a dear friend so I had her look and she saw it, too...she didn't say anything but she went and checked hair...all good...thank God, and she was even sweet enough to bring Kayla and I home!! So here I am washing EVERYTHING....bedding and clothes, we already did the treatment (I did mine too just to be on the safe side). The person/neighbor doesn't wash their stuff after the kids are infected and I think the stay dormant. I guess I just have to keep Kayla away OR do a treatment every time she is around them just to be on the safe side. Just irritated. I had to take another day off work and poor Kayla LOVES school, and I can clean the laundry and carpets, why can't they....pure laziness, and because of it, we have to suffer too. UGH. I don't let Kayla go around any children if she is sick or just getting over something. CHECK YOUR KIDS HAIR......

On a positive note (there is that word I love LOL) I am hoping to get some action today (2dpo). Also if we dtd 3dpo (tomorrow) is there still a chance??? I just don't feel we dtd enough, but I should take what I can get

    Thanks for listening....rant done lol

Baby oil keep baby oil in Kayla's head then comb the nits out do this every day, wash her hair then apply oil again repeat daily for 10 days it's the safest and cheapest remedy trust me I learned first hand, take all stuffed animals throw them in trash bag then freeze them, wash everything in hot water and the bedding daily in hot water, those treatments don't work for **** for the nits that eventually will hatch hence re infestation. Baby oil did wonders after battling it with Brittany for 3 months. Gl honey

I would make sure to keep checking her, that is so hard to get rid of, especially if the person isn't consistent/thorough like your neighbor. That is SO frustrating. I worked in a day care center a few years ago, and a child came in and was playing, and I noticed she had lice CRAWLING all over her hair, there was so much it was ridiculous. It was her first day in our program. When we told her mom, she stated that she KNEW, and that she would just have to take her to work with her, she worked in a clothing store, REALLY??? People are so stupid. I hope you have no trouble getting rid of it! (I think you would only have a chance if you O'd later than you thought...)
Took us 20 months to catch our little elf!! Can't wait to meet you! It's a boy!!! to all my TTC friends!

Thank you, I need all the luck and advice I can get....The laundry is almost done, but I feel like it will just keep happening, and I am glad you told me about the baby oil, because I have tons and I never use it...so now I can I put all her stuffed animals in a trash bag with this spray, but freezing them is a good idea, too.....thank you so much. I am so sorry you had to go through it for 3 months. I am def. taking your advice....poor baby is too young to understand and I didn't dare tell her there were bugs in her hair, she would go back to school and tell her friends who would go home and tell Mommy & Daddy. I told the director, it's up to her to check (which she did) or tell the parents. I just told her we were having a GIRLS day....I did the treatment, we painted nails, and went shopping....not a bad day, and I was able to spread out the cleaning because she was so occupied and now she is napping (well for another 10 mins). I hate that I know this and can't do anything about it, but my neighbor doesn't wash the bedding and things that should be and I KNOW their kids are infested, and it's NOT their fault. I understand you are busy and tired and work, but I took a frickin' day off, so can you. They can send their kids to school with lice (which in my book is NOT okay), I cannot....I can't miss anymore work...I only have 7 more PTO days for the year and it would be nice to use them on vacation. I just wish I could talk to them and even offer to help if needed, but they will take offense and then, once again, Malia is the bad person. I will just stay out of it, but once it's gone if Kayla gets it again, I am saying something. Gosh, I can't wait until the 1st of the year when we start looking at new homes...I want out of here so bad.....

You must have posted this when I was replying lol. Oh wow...that is crazy what you went through. ewwwww, I would be so embarresed as a Mom...Nope, I will miss as much work as I have to. It does suck that I can't talk to my neighbors and like I said even offer to help if they are that busy/tired. Thanks hun...I hope it goes away FAST too. The director says Kayla can come back tomorrow, but I don't know....I think I should keep her home through the weekend. I will talk to Dan when he gets home. And about dtd today LOL....I feel like I am Oing today.....but I usually do on CD16 and today is CD18 and go figure I didn't use OPKS this month.....geez. Dan is kinda in a mood....men, I swear. So if we do, we do...we don't...we don't......hoping for the best.......
Thanks Mariah.....I guess it comes with having hair LOL and A LOT of it at that...it's worth it to make it all better and hey, my house is clean and smells better now LOL...between this and our doggy getting old and peeing on the carpet, I needed to give the house some TLC today......

Trust Malia you may think they ate gone but nits take on the color of the hair so do the live hence black Hair black lice, blond Hair blond lice and little bubble looking things in a hair strand, use the baby oil to be safe n suffocate even the tiny baby ones you can't see. Let her sleep in the baby oil tonight. You to just to be safe. I was under the same misconception after 1 treatment all gone wrooong. Yes the animals in a bag in freezer kills them. Vacuum and dump the bags ASAP .

I was watching my DH's best friend's sons a couple of years ago. The stepmom knew they had lice and didn't tell me right away. She sent her dh over with a kit from the store. The boys were older and only ever sat in one chair in our living room. Usually we were at the dining room table with homework and board games. The worst part of this is that stepmom deloused the boys and cleaned the house and retreated as instructed by the kits pamphlet. THEN the boys go to their every other weekend visitation at mom's house and come home with lice AGAIN. It was a cycle for months. Finally, the stepmom blew up at the mom and they came home clean ever since. It sometimes takes a confrontation like that to open peoples eyes. I am not suggesting you do that by any means. The situation is different in that the responsible party is not a parent but the frustration is very real. I had to wash blankets and vacuum and scrub furniture each time too. Good luck with the neighbors and keeping Kayla lice free!

That is HORRIBLE. I am so sorry you had to go through that. How disgusting and inconsiderate. I then found out today she told someone she thinks we called animal control on their dog. Are you kidding me??? I will TELL you before I call....I own what I do. I am so over it, next time she is around me and tries to me nice (fake) I am going to lay it all on the line nicely and just tell her she is simply my neighbor, no longer are we friends/haven't been for a long time (she talks behind my back, only texts when she needs something, etc. and just LOVES drama) and I will treat her like a neighbor, if I think your child gave mine lice I will call the school, have them checked and sent home, can't go back to school until it's clear, if I think your dog is neglected, which he is, I will make a call. I am NOT the bad person and Mom they say I am or I wouldn't give a ****, but I want what is best for any child and animal....they depend on us...they can't take care of themselves. Thank God she was clear and able to go back to school today, and I had a VERY important meeting at work. See, because their children have had lice for almost a year now and they either don't know how or don't want to treat their hair AND their home, they are causing problems in other people's lives. It's NOT okay. My friend's daughter who got it is 1 1/2 and had a CAT scan the next day (the night before we found the lice) and they were up until 3AM cleaning the lice out of her hair and the blankets, etc.
