Question TWELVE days late and negative HPT. Prego or no?

    Hey y'all -

I'm new around here (not trying to conceive), but I'm going crazy and hoping someone has some insight into this situation. I'm 24, always been regular, and now I am 12 days late. I'm not on birth control - being married and financially stable, we've gotten a little lax; but we did use the pull-out method, except for a couple times right before my period was due.

Of course, at a week late I was peeing on my first stick- negative. Now I have taken a total of SIX tests, (the last three were early-result from Target) and STILL negative, but no period. What gives??? I don't particularly mind whether I am pregnant or not, but I just want to know! Anyone had any experience like this?

    Thanks!!!

Edit: normally my cycle is 28 to 30 days.

There could be many reasons for your cycle to be delayed in starting -- Have you been sick? Been under any new stress?

For some women, urine tests simply to show positive until very late. If I were you, I'd call in to your doctor for a blood test.

This. Or you could wait a bit longer to see what else happens.

Thanks ladies! My current plan is to wait another week and then go in for a blood test. In the mean time, I have been treating my body as I would in early pregnancy, just in case.

To answer your question - no, I haven't been under any unusual stress or been sick. I did have some changes to my schedule, went on vacation and cut out sugar for two weeks in the last month, maybe that has something to do with it? I feel completely well and no pregnancy symptoms except maybe fatigue, but I'm in nursing school...so fatigue is par for the course. I don't exercise vigorously and though I am thin, I'm not nearly thin enough to miss a cycle.

I think that sounds like a good plan. Maybe the no sugar thing delayed your ovulation or something.

Now 16 days late, still tested negative with a First Response test this AM.

So frustrating! Will be making an appt. for early next week. What do I make it for? If I make an appt for a blood test do I get to see the physician? I don't have a regular GYN.

    Thanks!

Tell them you're 16 days late and you want a blood test because you're getting negative HPTs.
