    Default Carpet cleaning

OMG! So I've known for a while now that baking soda can clean just about anything. So today I cleaned my stove and kitchen floor. I can't believe how easy the baking soda cleaned my stove!!!!!! My floor tho still has the baking soda residue and I don't know how to get it off, (help).

Now I want to clean my carpets. What do you all use? I've been googling and I'm wondering what you've tried and what worked and didn't work?

do you mean other than vacuuming? I only have one large area rug that I vacuum. When I used to live in an apartment with carpeting, I would use baking soda. Sprinkle it and vacuum. With my large rug, it's in the boys' playrooms, so it gets stains, I have successfully used bac-out and a vinegar-water solution. I spray, and then blot out the stains with a cloth.

As for residue, it is hard to clean. I have never used baking soda on my floors, but I have used too much on my kitchen counters. I just use a wet cloth, wipe it up, rinse it out, repeat, until it's clean.

I have a powerful vacuum....a dyson. And I also have a Hoover steam vac. I did the steam vac with vinegar and water and I can't see much of a difference in the carpet. I don't want to use crazy chemicals since I have 2 dogs a cat and a toddler. I read up on baking soda and it seems like it just takes care of odor?

yeah, baking soda does just take care of odors. wasn't sure what you needed to clean bac-out is a natural product, and vinegar and water spray help. I did not use my steamer, but a cloth and blotted sections of it. I got to the stains when they were fairly fresh, too
