Default Best 'be a doctor' kit for toddlers?

If you've looked over these, which has the best mix of stuff? Or what did you buy? So many out there and they all look the same.

DS got this one as a gift recently.

He likes to play with it.

Pros: the shot squeaks; the thermometer turns to change temps; the stethoscope makes heart sounds and coughing sounds, has a bandaid that goes on like a wrist cuff

Cons: all the pieces fit in the doctor bag, but it's tight; the stethoscope is too small for me to use when it's my turn to be the doctor.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that one and we like the brand for its other toys. I'll check it out.

That's the kind we have as well. After a while of hard use with multiple kids, the actual box broke and several of the other pieces have come apart, but I think we got ours when the twins were quite a bit younger than your son is, though.

Our baby is 3 years old already!

We were given this one as a gift. http://www.amazon.com/B-68611-Doctor...rds=doctor+kit

It's really nice. The box is huge, so if we ever purchase accessories (lab coat...or any other random doctor-y things) it can fit plenty more. I'm a little bummed the stethoscope doesn't really "work" like the one I had when I was a kid, but it does make a heartbeat sound in the ear phones when you press the button. The kids love the syringe and the scissors. Incredibly sturdy.

Do veterinarians count? My son has this one and he loves it. Pretend play is something his autism therapists strive to develop, and he does a great job with this set. It's a cute set, and even has an x-ray "machine." http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resou...n+pretend+play
