Default ANY chance that weaning is doing this to me?

    Hiya.

My baby's gonna be a year old on Monday, and she's been transitioning quite nicely to solid foods. I haven't been pushing weaning at all, but she really only nurses when she wakes up, when she goes down for her nap, when she goes down to sleep, and once at night.

Now, I know this is PROBABLY the birth control, given my history with it, but this morning I just started my 4th period in less than 7 weeks. Before I flush my pills, is there ANY chance I can blame her nursing less and not the Pill? This is driving me batty, but I really don't want to stop the Pill only to realize that the problem is going to continue regardless.

    Thanks in advance!

Can't think of any reason why weaning would cause it.

Hm. Ok. I guess I was just hoping that since breastfeeding seems to cause such hormonal havoc, maybe weaning would too.

don't think that weaning would do that... but bc could do it but don't flush it... bc is one of those drugs that has been showing up in the drinking water after its been flushed.
have you called your ob to find out what could be going on?

The flushing comment was more a measure of my frustration than something I would actually do.

I haven't gone to my OB because I don't have insurance. I've been to the clinic before. They pretty much told me the only other thing they could do for me is the Depo shot, which I have no desire at all to take. So... that's how we ended up with our little bundle of joy.

How long have you been on it? It can take several months to regulate thing. Break through bleeding is pretty common.if you've been on it for 3-4m you might want to see if you can try a different type of pill.

I've been on it since my 6-week checkup. It was very mean to me for a couple weeks, then it's been fine, I assume because my hormones were different since I was nursing. But these past 7 weeks have just been .

Well my 23 month old just fully weaned and I went nuts for a couple days, just crazy emotional rollercoster.... but I was also having PMS. I think that weaning may have /exacerbated/ my usual symptoms but yeah I didn't get weird when I weaned my first .... but then again I was also pregnant at the time.
