So today was DD1's kindergarten picnic at her school. She was eating her usual lunch and her teacher came over and said that DD has the healthiest lunches she has ever seen in 7 years of teaching! I was so taken back - it was seriously the BEST compliment she could have given me. She has said that DD is her best reader and one of the brightest in her class and I swear that this made me more happy to hear

The sad thing is - her lunches are not half as healthy as I would like them to be. We have to compromise on a lot of things because she sees what other kids have and I am limited with what I can send her. She usually has a sandwich, veggie or fruit a juice box and a treat/snack. The sandwich is usually lunch meat which I don't like but we can only do so much PBJ and thermos leftovers. I don't like the juice box or the other treat but that is what she wants and quite frankly it's a bit easier than always filling her water bottles with other drinks and making homemade snacks for her. Also the other kids bring those things so she wants them too.

Anyway, I was SO happy to hear her say this. It seriously made my day
