started my period may 17 which was a Thursday
Friday light bleeding..by Saturday was off. then i was spotting sat.and Sunday..took a preg.test neg??

if you had your period and have a negative pregnancy test, it's highly unlikely you're pregnant. 99.9% of women do not have any period-type bleeding while they are pregnant. If you don't have your period again in 4 weeks, I'd suggest you see a Dr.

I don't know where that statistic came from, but I've found articles that anywhere from 20-25% of women DO have light period-like bleeding at some point during their pregnancies.

If your period is typically heavier or longer, something is going on with your body. Whether it is pregnancy related or not, I can't say. If you're feeling 'off', test again - be sure to use your first morning pee. And if you have no period or a strange (for you) period again next month, definitely see your doctor to see what is going on.

I don't know where your information came from, but I suppose if you look hard enough you can find a statistic to support any theory.


A very small percentage of women experience light spotting at some point during pregnancy, certainly not 20-25%, and most certainly not a period-like flow. Passing along misinformation to make yourself appear informed doesn't help the person coming here for help.

My ob says light spotting is much more common than people think - and probably 1/2 of my friends had it in very early pregnancy. But that's another subject.

I think in this case, it is probably just your period, especially if it was on time for you. Implantation bleeding can occur, but it is before your period and you would get a positive test a few days after. Just test again if you are unsure...

Many women experience some spotting light bleeding as well as cramps early on in pregnancy. I had some on and off spotting with this pregnancy up until 7 wks. It wasn't a period like flow but it can def. be normal to have some light bleeding. A lot of the women in my DD room also had some spotting. We all had positive HPT test though so I think you should probably wait to take another and if your still unsure may a blood test will confirm it. Usually by the time of your missed period you should have an accurate HPT. Good luck!

ok thanks...well i knw u can have a lil bleeding before u find out your pregant...my sister her period done the same thing and she found out a couple weeks later that she was pregnant...it just caught me off guard because my period never done that before...i was basically bleeding for one day...???

before having Q, my af was spotting for 3-4 days then have moderate bleeding for 2 days then 3 days of spotting... when i first got pg with Q i spotted for 7 days and had a neg. pg test... then a week later got a bfp. so anything is possible!
i would wait 1-2 more weeks and test again. and if you don't get a regular af then call your dr.

ok thanks...its been a week since i took the preg.test.
so ill take another one sometime next week just to be sure

update: took a perg.test last week neg.but now I'm having period sym.but still haven't start next period is in a week or two...Monday had a little speck of pinkish blood and thst was it. me and my bf had sex when we was finish i notice that i was bleeding (thought. he knock me on on my period) the next day wasn't bleeding..its driving me crazy. .dnt knw what else it could be already took 2 preg test...help!!!
