Smile California Adoption (or Oregon or Washington)

Hi everyone! I'm just starting to dip my toes into this process, and I tend to get started early and waaaaay over-research everything! I think we will really start into the process in August, but I want to get started on my homework early so that we can be the most prepared that we can be.

My story: STC since 12/2008 (age 28), no BFPs for 3 years...diagnosed with DOR (FSH 15/AMH 0.55) April 2011. DH basically has millions of Michael Phelps for swimmers! Clomid+IUI 4/2011 failed, Clomid/Inj/IUI = BPF Aug 2011 m/c at 10wks. Clomid/Inj/IUI 11/2011 failed, Clomid/Inj/IUI 4/2012 BFP m/c at 5wks. It has been a long and heartbreaking process and we are now ready to take the next step.

DH has always wanted to adopt, even if we were able to have our own biological children...we have a lot of adopted family members.

We live in California, but in a very remote town, so foster parenting probably isn't much of an option. I'm just curious to hear what your experiences have been with agencies and the process in California, and how the state/federal incentives are for CA residents. We have also been talking about moving in a year or so, so Oregon or Washington could also be good options. Ideally domestic infant would be best case scenario, but we would also be open to siblings, and international adoptions too.

Do you have any (CA or national) agencies that you might recommend? What would you say is the best way to jump into this process.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to spending a lot more time with everyone and seeing our families grow!

I've done a lot of grant writing and fundraising for the kindship center here on the central coast, they are a great organization. My parents actually adopted my brother and I as infants through this organization almost 30 years ago before they had this name.

I love WACAP based out of Seattle. They work nationwide & do domestic child & sibling, African American infant & international infant & older. Can't link on my phone but it's wacap.org.

Fwiw I was an independent adoption in So Cal.
