How long is it normal?

I had an exam on Wednesday morning. Before my exam, I lost a good bit of my plug. When went in, I was 2cm dilated, my cervix had gone from 4cm to 1cm (in two weeks) and baby is at -1 station. I had a little more mucus during the day (usually after a round of contractions). Then that night I had a ton of pressure and lots of bloody show. Had more yesterday, all day. It's been a mix of spotting and blood mixed in with mucus plug. I thought it would be done by now but it's still happening this morning.

Do you think all of this is from the exam? The midwife was super gentle. I could hardly feel her in there and it was quick. I've had this kind of thing with my other pregnancies, but that was when I had my membranes stripped - did NOT happen this time around or even close.

I know the plug can regenerate but I'm surprised that I'm still spotting along with it. Some of it has been reddish brown, too (even as recently as last night).

I get the same after an exam. Extra mucousy and blood tinged. So it very well could be from the exam.

Did you call your midwife? I'd get her opinion. You're still pretty early and I'd not want to go into labor yet if I was you.
