Hi everyone. I am 8 weeks and 4 days in to my first pregnancy. It was an unplanned pregnancy and I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I am on an insulin pump, whereas before I was taking 7-9 shots a day. The day I found out, I decided to get my butt in gear and try to get as healthy as possible. It's hard to accept that I can't do anything about the days before I knew, but I can just try to take better care of myself from this point on and pray for the best moving forward.
I was testing my blood sugar 14-16 times a day but recently got on a continuous blood glucose monitoring system, so I can test a little less than before.
We got to see the heartbeat at 6 weeks and we go in for another ultrasound at 11 weeks. I am trying to keep myself from getting too excited, as I don't want to be disappointed if my body can't handle the pregnancy, but it is getting harder and harder with each day that goes by. I really want this pregnancy to go well and would appreciate any good thoughts directed this way.![]()
