Default Blood Pressure and Vision issues questions

Since Sunday night I have been having off and on issues with seeing spots. I'm fairly certain my bp is high (for me) while it's happening, but lowers when they go away. I had my eyes checked and they are fine. There is no protein in my urine either. My Dr I'm switching from has been very hands off with me with this pregnancy (reason I'm switching), but the new clinic cannot see me until my initial visit towards the end of the month. Are there any other red flags I should be watching for? My Dr just tells me everything is normal, so if I have to I will go to the er associated with the clinic I'm switching to so I'll have to be seen there.

Usually my midwife tells me to let her know if Im seeing the spots... Can you maybe stop by a drug store or somewhere where you can check your own bp? Any nausea, swelling, or headaches? Pre E can also be symptom-less too.

Are they like floaties in your vision or big spots? Floaters can be common during pregnancy (in fact that was one of my first solid symptoms) but it's better to let your doc know asap. Most often it's the change of pressure in your eye because of hormones. But if it's related to the BP increasing that is more alarming. I'd try to call the new office and get in sooner

And if you're suspecting pre-e or pregnancy induced hypertension watch out for any upper right quad pain on top of what Katie mentioned

It's white spots causing tunnel vision - definitely not floaters. My feet swell up daily. For the last month and a half-two months I've had issues with hip and pelvic pain, and my feet and legs going numb and tingly. I have told my Dr about all of this and is comment is always "Well baby is doing fine and that's what matters." I haven't had any headache pain with the spots. I can go to the fire hall to have my bp checked

I don't think the floaters are anything to worry about and are fairly common - however ... if you begin to have flashes in your vision I'd give your doc a call.

Keep an eye on your blood pressure(>140/90 sustained is hypertension) and symptoms of very high blood pressure like persistent headache, pain below right ribcage or upper tummy(liver) and sudden increase in swelling, mainly of feet. Hope you get your doubts cleared by your doc soon.

If you experience any nausea go to the ER. Pre-e doesn't always show up in urine. You can have pre-e and not be spilling protein and you can be spilling protein and not have pre-e. You need to have blood work done to test your liver enzymes. And PP is right, upper right quadrant pain should be checked out immediately. Vision problems can be common during pregnancy, but high blood pressure needs to be monitored.

I am currently being treated for HBP at a special clinic while pregnant. This is the card they give everyone.

Call your provider if you have any of these warning signs of preeclampsia:
    Headache that doesn't go away
Seeing spots, stars, or flashing lights
Swelling in your face, hands, and/or your lower legs or ankles that doesn't go away overnight
Heartburn-like pain on the right side, with or without nausea or vomiting

Also, after 28 weeks' gestation, be sure to call your provider if your baby is moving less than 10 times over a 2 hour period during a time when your baby is usually active.
(I know you are not 28 weeks yet, but thought I would include that)

I would definitely go to the fire station just to see where your BP is sitting. HBP is something to keep an eye on in pregnancy. It can get out of control very quickly. My doc suggests laying down in the afternoon for 30 minutes everyday to help with the BP. I know it is hard with the kids around but I try to make an effort. Good luck.

Yesterday after my follow up with my Dr he had me admitted to the hospital for 2 bags of iv fluid and a bunch of lab work. Apparently my urine showed I was dehydrated despite the fact that I had drank plenty of water before my appt. He said the only thing the labs showed was that my magnesium was on the low side of normal, so if I were to start getting leg cramps I might need a magnesium supplement. He said everything is probably just dehydration and migraines.
