Default How long did it take you ....

to get pregnant while you were 'trying' ???

I have finally decided that i'm ready to have another baby Our first just turned 4...
We started trying 3 months ago.... and I know 3 months isn't a long time but I got pregnant the first month I tried the first time around....
Now i'm curious and wondering what is going on! I know approx when I ovulate, and signs..so I think we're 'trying' on the right days....

    I'm getting nervous!

It took us three months of trying after giving myself a two month break after getting off of BCP (we used other methods during that time). The second month I actually had a chemical pregnancy, but the third month, we finally got one to stick. Best of luck!

7 mos (we used the OV watch for the last three, probably incorrectly at first. Absolutely certain that i got pregnant due to its advice, and absolutely certain that if we'd stuck with the pee sticks alone, it would have been many more before we got lucky.)

    2 months both times for #2 and #3. #1 was a surprise.

The first months for both 2 & 3 we didn't try very hard. We maybe had sex once or twice. The 2nd month we got more serious.

    14 months with #1
About a year with #2 although we did IUI and it probably would have been longer without that
15 months with #3 (with failed infertility treatments in there before unexpectedly getting pregnant on my own)

    Good luck!

If I remember right, 1 year of NPP and then 18 months of TTC / STC for #1.

And technically, since we were "trying" from the day Maiya was born, it took 22 months to get pregnant again, but that turned in to a miscarriage. Now it's 24 months and we've had a failed IUI, so we're still counting...

(But, my period didn't return until she was 15 months, so even though we were trying and I really wanted it to happen, probably 7 months until the miscarriage and now 9 months of still trying is more accurate.)

We NPP, it took 9 months, 9 months, 5 months, 13 months, and 11 months.

*oops, forgot to add that there was a m/c and a chemical pregnancy in there so if you add those in then it was 9 months, 6 months, 2 months, 5 months, 12 months, 1 month, and 11 months.

    #1 2months
    #2 1month
    #3 1month (ended in miscarriage)
#4 1 month (wasn't really trying because I was terrified of another miscarriage, but wasn't doing anything to prevent either)

DS took 7 months following an ectopic (no tube damage/loss). This pregnancy took 22 months. I was having regular cycles, regular BDing, all signs pointing in the right direction, just took a long time.

Once we figured out that the "old fashioned" way wasn't going to work for us, it took 6 months of IUI's to get the triplets. It took 2 to get Jericho. Good luck!

1st-a good three years of trying and then three IUI (ended in miscarriage)
    2nd-3 months trying
    3rd-3 months...surprise!
    4th-about 6-9 months of trying.
5th-had decided not to have another about 8 months after C was born and found out I was pregnant a month later (ended in miscarriage)
6th-1 month...technically it was three weeks later after the DNC. A total surprise!

Good luck to you! I can say that only trying after three months should be nothing to worry about. I know it seems like a long time but every professional will say only after a year of trying should the next step be taken. So, there is no need to worry! Fingers are crossed!

Thank you ladies I am relieved that its normal for it to take a while in some cases! I was so upset when my period started each time... (I even waited so I would potentially have an oct or nov baby thinking those would be nice months to give birth this time around! Silly me thinking it would just happen exactly how I want it to, who do I think I am?!)
Now...I don't care!! I just want to be pregnant!! ..and hope it happens one of these months...

With my first, we got pregnant the first month of trying. With our second, we got pregnant the second month of trying and that ended up a m/c at 6.5 weeks. Then, I had a chemical pregnancy the following month. And then exactly one month later, I was pregnant again with DS2. So, all in all, it took 4 months b/c of the m/c's.

My kids were all conceived the month we decided to try. With my second, we were kind of careless the month before he was conceived and I was hoping to get pregnant (and was very sad that I wasn't), so I don't know if that counts as one or two months trying. I can understand where you're coming from with wondering what's going on. I think after experiencing it being easy to conceive immediately like you did with your first, I would be confused if I thought I was doing everything "right" yet I wasn't getting pregnant. Best of luck to you, and babydust!

With R it took 6 months of trying, then not trying for 6 months, then when we tried again it was the first month. Then with S it was about 6 months I think.

With DD - first month we tried.
With DS - I got pregnant the 8th month of TTC.
If I TTC #3 I will not chart or temp like I did when TTC DS. Too stressful and I became obsessive about getting a BFP. Not going to put myself through that.

I have no idea how many cycles for #1 but it took me 2 years to get pregnant. Got pregnant my first post partum cycle after her (SURPRISE!) which ended in m/c. We were NPP and I got pregnant with Olivia when Ava was 11 months old.
