Default The baby is here, my milk is in, time to get down to business again!

This is my new thread and the title pretty much says why I'm back so I'll just get down to the info necessary to get me started.

My basic back story: In high school I was always between 150 and 155lbs. Just before I found out I was pg with my first baby I was almost 21 years old and about 160lbs. Just before I found out I was pg with my 3rd I had just turned 24 years old and was 203lbs - my highest non-pg weight ever. When I went in to deliver her 16mos ago I was 205lbs - lost then gained through that pregnancy under my midwife's supervision. Over then next 7mos I got down to about 178lbs then found out I was pg with my 4th child. On March 28, 2012 I went in to deliver her at 202lbs. I had hoped to stay under 200lbs this time, but I'm satisfied with things overall. I'm in far better shape now than I have been since I started having kids.

My plan: I was in this room last year and it really helped me stay accountable. I know I won't be able to do anything extreme (cutting calories or major exercise) again for a while because I am tandem nursing once again, but I want to start working on toning and keeping an eye on my weight/eating habits right away so I at least won't start slowly gaining again. Most people have trouble while they are pregnant. I seem to struggle most the first few months after the baby arrives. I will weigh in/check in on Mondays and do measurements about every 3-4 weeks. If no one minds I would like to post progress pics as well. I'm a visual person so it helps me to SEE if I'm making progress.

My goal: I'd really like to make it back into the low to mid 150s as that is a pretty healthy weight for me. I can't really put a date on it for now since it will greatly depend on how my supply reacts to everything - as of now I have massive over supply again and, even with tandem nursing, am having to pump at least a few ounces every evening just so I can sleep at night. As for activity/exercise I will start with stretching, belly dancing, hoola hoop and walking as those are all things I did through out my pregnancy and don't seem to be affecting my supply any now. I'm sure as we get into summer I will add hiking (several miles at a time in the Ozark mountains) with DH to the list. The over all goal is to be active, fit, and healthy more than maintaining a number on the scale.

I'm so ready! I can do this!

It's Monday so I'm weighing in.

    4/9 - 188.4
    4/16 - 187.6 (.8)

Not sure how that happened because my in-laws were here this weekend so we ate out with them every meal for 3 days straight. I feel so yucky this morning. My tummy says I don't want to eat anything for at least a week, but my body is screaming for some nutrition. Gonna go to the store today and get some fruit and wheat crackers and stuff that isn't super heavy, but is still good for me so I can try to recover from all the junk. I can't believe I'm saying all this. Before I started being pg/bfing continuously I ate like crap all the time and it never bothered me. Now I just want regular relatively healthy food at least most of the time or my body revolts. I know it's good, but it still seems weird to me.

That happens to me too. I think I just can't handle the blood sugar highs and lows as much when I am going, going going with lots of little kiddos. The feeling of "This is going to make me feel ill later" wins out over the momentary desire to eat crap...most days. If I do go crazy with craptastic food I definitely feel gross later, not just guilt gross but bloated, nauseous, tired etc. And who can sit around feeling that way when you have little people to help out all day.

You're doing great...keep up the good work!

    Monday weigh in:

    4/9 - 188.4
    4/16 - 187.6 (.8)
    4/23 - 186.0 (1.6 - 2.4)

Not sure how this happened so we'll see if it stays off. I've been doing a lot of hiking and walking. Mostly I've been stressing though and that burns A LOT of calories. We're trying to buy a house. We have till the end of June where we are now and don't want to move to another apartment so we're getting down to the wire on time. We have a house picked out that we love, but someone else beat us to making an offer. The realtor said it's early and there's a chance it might fall through so we'll see. I'm trying to relax. I know God is in control, but sometimes I forget. ;)

    Weigh in Monday:

    4/9 - 188.4
    4/16 - 187.6 (.8)
    4/23 - 186.0 (1.6 - 2.4)
    4/30 - 188.2 (2.2 - .2)

As I suspected that big loss last week didn't stick. I think it might have had more to do with the fact that I was dehydrated and didn't get supper the night before my weigh in. I'd hoped to stay around 187, but no such luck. I know I'm stress eating with everything I have going on right now. I need to focus. I can do this.

I'm starting to think a lot of this has to do with how much the girls are up to nurse at night still. I'm not getting super engorged anymore so I didn't think it was a major issue anymore, but I got on the scale again this morning just to see and I was back down to 187.2lbs. I don't really understand it, but I don't think I'm gonna worry about it too much just yet.

Can't believe it's been 3 weeks since I posted in here. Life has a way of running away with me when I'm not paying attention. Here's my update.

    4/9 - 188.4
    4/16 - 187.6 (-.8)
    4/23 - 186.0 (-1.6 / -2.4)
    4/30 - 188.2 (+2.2 / -.2)
    5/21 - 189.2 (+1 / +.8)

    Measurements

    Neck: 13.25 (-.75)
    Bust: 39 (---)
    Chest: 31 (---)
    Natural Waist: 32.5 (-.5)
    Belly Button: 38 (-2)
    Hips: 41 (-2.5)
    Butt: 47.25 (-.75)
    Upper Arm: 13.5 - 13.5 (---)
    Lower Arm: 10 - 10.5 (-1)
    Upper Leg: 26.75 - 28.25 (-.5)
    Lower Leg: 15.5 - 16 (---)
    Total: -8ins since 4/9 (6wks)

I'm not sure how I managed to gain almost a pound and drop 8ins in the same period of time. Toning after the baby? It's progress though and that's what I'm after. Still not really cutting calories or doing anything crazy for exercise - hoolahooping, walking, and stretching mostly right now. I took another progress pic and put it on FB today since I still can't get any pics to upload here.

Sounds like you are doing great! There is only so much you can do when you are a food source!

I need to take some measurements too since the scale can be kind of disconcerting at times..... I honestly don't know how too though
