    Default What do you think?

    Hey,

I have royally messed up my birth control this month. In between packs of bc i stopped taking it totally for a week (not counting the week meant for my period) and then started a new pack. I took it for about a week or so, and then missed 4 pills. During the time I had missed the pills I had unprotected sex twice, and didnt use any other type of birth control. Given that it was close to the average time of ovulation (because i dont know for sure what mine would be since i have been on birth control for years) what are the chances that I could get pregnant? Also I take adhd medications, and an antidepressant to help me get through school, im not sure what to do right now while im waitin in limbo. I cant pay attention w/o it, but I know its not good for a developing baby. I started taking my pills again after i realized i had messed up, and have taken them every day since, however, I have been experiencing cramping, in ways that arent normal for my cycle at this point. Ive been thinking about this alot and am probably psyching myself out, but I need an outlet for talk besides my friends.

    Thanks guys

Okay...questions. When u stopped taking the first pack did your period start within the first couple days of not taking it or did it wait a week and then start? Did you miss the first 4 pills in your new pack?
Either way it is possible to get pg. typical ovulation occurs around day 14 of your cycle starting with the first day of your period. So if you had a period for a week and then didn't take 4 pills that would be day 11...this could mean your body ovulated or was ready to ovulate. Meaning you could get pg. it sounds like you are in high school or college. Do you have an OB, health clinic or planned parenthood you could go to? They could tell you what to do regarding this pack of birth controll and possibly your other medication? It also depends on what u would do if you were pg. would you keep, give for adoption, or have an abortion. All personal decisions that only you can decide what is best for you. Please take care of yourself!

Yes, usually my period starts tuesday night or sometime on wednesday. I use the average new pack starting on a sunday plan. Im pretty sure I took the first 4 pills of the new pack, and that it was in the end of the first week, and beginning of the second that i missed. I have the type of pack that is circular shaped, and it was at like 3 o'clock ish that i missed the 4 pills. Im a college student, 22 yrs old. I have a clinic i can call, I will do so today. Thank you for your input

Glad you can get into the clinic. It sounds like you could get pg with missing the 4 pills (around days 12- 16 in your cycle). Sounds like you might be taking orthotrycycline(sp?) and that stops ovulation, but might not have if you ovulated during that time, but I am NOT a doctor. So talking with them will be a big help!

It's possible the cramping is due to inconsistent hormone intake, I'd agree to call and ask your Doc. !!!!

i'm very confused! My breasts are very tender and I thought i was getting my period, but when it didnt come I took an early results cvs brand preg test. I got a very faint second blue line in about a min. I assumed that was a positive and it was just early. I waited 2 days and took an early results first response and got a negative. Then on the third day another cvs brand and it was neg. I started thinking i am one of the few with a false positive but my breasts r still tender and swolen and i am very tired. I am confused please help

Are you past when your period should have started? If so, I would go with a pricier (sp?) test that reads pregnant or not pg. some have good results a couple days before your period, but are almost 99percent accurate in the day of your period. If it says negative and you are still feeling odd, please go to the doctor.

I used to mess my pills up quite often. Since you are on them there's really no 'normal' time of ovulation because your body doesn't ovulate. I know breasts can become tender with PMS and they always seem to be more tender when we're scared!
