Implanon and pregnancy

Hi. I have an implanon "stick" in my arm and so far I haven't had any issues with it. I was told by my doctor that my period could change or go away all together. For almost two years it's been a little weird but I got some sort of period every 28 to 35 days. Not bad, I thought. But I haven't gotten my period since the year started and honestly I can't remember when in December it was that I got my last one. I just know it was sometime in December 2011. I have done 2 pregnancy tests at home, both mid to end January. Both came out negative.
I decided to wait a few more days, which have turned now into weeks, waiting for my period, but I have yet to get it.
I started to read about the Implanon and got scared at the things I read, so I decided to just ask here if anyone has had any experiences like mine.

I had the implants for 3 years. I didn't have a period after the 6th month of it in. It worked great as birth control, I had no libido and it made me gain a ton of weight, but it did it's job. I won't be getting it again. But yes, it's normal to not have a period while having the Implanon.
