    Default Am I pregnant

Im a virgin and me and my boyfriend kinda had sex on the 14th day of my cycle. He didnt actually put it in all the way, just a little, definitely less deep than my hymen since it didnt hurt. Usually he pulls out before he has an orgasm but this time he didnt. There was his semen all over my vagina, I washed immediately and tried to get most of it off. Is it possible that Im pregnant? My period ended on the 6th of january and all this happen on the night of the 14th.

I read on the internet about early symptoms and I dont have tendeness in the breasts. Also, I havent noticed any spotting or experienced more fatigue or nausea etc. Does this mean Im not pregnant? My boyfriend and me are not ready for this yet, please help me. Do I need an abortion?

You won't know until AF is due again at the beginning of February. But you're playing with fire and it IS possible that you got pregnant from that experience. If you aren't, you really need to think about getting some birth control. An abortion is NOT birth control!!! If it happens again and you're not on birth control, remember that you can always get Plan B the day afterwards to help protect against pregnancy.

Most of the signs of pregnancy - even the early ones - don't show up until the week AF is due so you probably wouldn't be feeling anything right now anyway.

You can take the first test 2 weeks after it happened - so the earliest is this Friday. However you really won't be able to know that it's for sure negative until the day after AF is due. But if you take a test Friday and see two lines... it means it's positive. You just won't know for sure it's negative until AF is late.

Best of luck, keep us updated!

First, if your boyfriend's penetrating you, you're not a virgin. The fact that it doesn't hurt doesn't mean anything, really. Not everyone's hymen is intact by the time they have sex (all sorts of things can rupture it).

As far as whether or not you're pregnant, you're just going to have to wait until your period is supposed to show up. If it doesn't, take a test and you should know then. As far as abortion goes, they wouldn't do one so early on, anyway, because the chances of actually missing something so tiny are very high. Generally, you need to be about 8wks or so pregnant to go that route.

I hope everything works out for you, and please, please, please remember -- if you're having any sort of penetration, you need to be on birth control or using a condom.

First of all, I'm sorry ur going through this scary time .....U would not be experiencing any symptoms yet if u r pregnant its too early. U need to take a pregnancy test the day after u expect ur period, depending on how long ur cycles usually r, if they r normally 28 days and ur last period was on the 6th, u could test Feb 4th. There isn't any other way to know if ur pregnant for sure, some people have symptoms and some people have no symptoms.... Also u need to get on Birthcontrol ASAP! PM me if u need anything else.

Also, a lot of woman break their hymen before their first sexual experience, doing sports or just being active in general, if u use tampons this could break it too. So its very possible that Urs already could be broken. Just for general knowledge if a penis goes into ur vagina at all u can get pregnant and ur not a virgin, ur most likely to get pregnant if u have sex around the time u ovulated (on average ovulation happens around the 14th day of your cycle)

Pretty much ull just have to wait to take a pregnancy test after ur period is late.

Would it help in any way to have birth control now? Can anything be done to prevent pregnancy given this?

Can I ask how old your are? I think you really need some guidance and help with figuring out this whole sex thing. You obviously don't understand how fertilization can occur. That's not a judgment against you but rather an observation that you've not been informed. If you're in school, can you talk to your school counselor about it? Do you have a Planned Parenthood near you? I'm pretty sure they'd be happy to help you figure all of this out.

Im eighteen, and Im in India. Ive just entered college but I dont think our college has any such thing as a counselor. In India, there is no discussion on these things and I mostly used to listen to my boyfriend on these matters. Today, while I started reading about it (because he called and said that he figured out that the count is from the beginning of the period and not from its end, and thus it wasnt the 9th day but the 14th) i got to know about all this. Im scared out of my wits now, If my parents find out, I dont know what to do.

I definitely would NOT rely on ur boyfriend to educate u on these issues. I would do your own research so that you know about your body and how it works.

Is there any way for you to get your hands on this book: http://www.amazon.com/Cycle-Savvy-Sm.../dp/0060829648

It gives a really good overview of how your fertility works and might help you make better choices in the future.

I agree with this completely. Wait and test if your period is late, at this point its too late for plan b pills or anything else. I think you need to take some time to educate yourself about fertility and your body. Best of luck.

    I'm sorry you're going thru this - that's scary.

If you aren't pregnant this time, I would highly suggest getting on some regular form of birth control - either the pill or using condoms. You have to protect yourself if you are going to do that.

If you do end up pregnant, try to take it as well as you can. Babies are truly a gift and if you do get pregnant then it is because that little one is meant to be and everything will work out in the end !

Took me some time to mentally prepare myself for all of this. One thing that I have discovered is that of late, like the last 3 times, my cycles have been running late (like 40 odd days). In this context, when should I take the pregnancy test? Should I still take it on the 2nd of feb? Is there some time that I can take the test and be sure about the results? Ive been reading that there are chances of a false negative.

Yes, if you take a test too early, it can give you a false negative. My advice is to test a couple days after February 2nd. If it comes back negative, wait for your period. If it doesn't show within a week, test again. And do that until you either have a positive test or your period.
