Default 2 missed periods, spotting instead. 3 colored evap lines on hpt

Hi everyone. I need some advice about colored evaps.

I've missed two periods so far. Two weeks after the first missed period I spotted light pink for 5 days. It started red the 1st day and ended brown but was very minimal the entire time. It was definitely way too light to be a period. Around the time of my next expected period (the first week of this month) I spotted brown for about 8 days. It was a little heavier than the previous spotting but never turned into a period. I took pregnancy tests throughout that time and all were negative.

About two weeks ago I tested with a RiteAid blue dye +/- test and it definitely seemed very faintly blue to begin with but within an hour it was darker, thicker and definitely noticeable. I figured it was just a bad blue dye evap so I shrugged it off. I tried again last night with a FRER and it appeared negative to begin with but after an hour the top and bottom edge had turned pink. I should've taken a picture at the time but I shrugged it off as another faulty test. I retested again this morning just to be sure (from the same box) and I could swear I saw a faint pink line within the time limit but I could have just been seeing things. What I do know is the same thing that happened with the first FR test happened with the second one. I took a picture about 2 1/2 hours after the most recent test was taken: http://tinypic.com/r/33x77r7/5

The bottom one is the older test and the top one is the one from this morning. The older test faded quite a bit overnight. I know it was after the 10 minute time limit but the color is definitely pink and I almost always use FRER & have never had an evap with color. Should I report a faulty batch of tests or could it have been a faint positive that got darker? Please help because I'm incredibly confused why two tests would do the same thing.

Honestly, at this point I would just head into the doctor and ask for a blood test. If you are two months late, you "should" be showing a REALLY obvious bright red or blue positive line by now. However, I've heard multiple women on this site that say they didn't show on HPTs and had to get a blood test to find out if they're pregnant.

Only thing is that I know you said you missed two months of periods - but if you had some bleeding on time each month, maybe it's possible that AF is just acting really strange? Have you changed anything lately? Like a form of birth control or anything?

I'm planning on going to the doctor soon. I just moved so funds have been a little tight I got off birth control in 2010 and other than that nothing else has really changed. It's just odd to me because though my cycle has been irregular before, it was mostly regular in 2011. I have never spotted pink before and I haven't ever had so much brown spotting without a period following. It's just very bizarre. I would guess it's probably hormonal but I'd never seen evaps like that before.

The test you posted looks defective to me because the dye isn't evenly distributed. Blue dye tests are notorious for evaps/false positives. Have you been stressed or anxious lately? That can mess with your cycle pretty bad. I missed two AF's in a row once because of stress. At this point I really think you need to go to the doctor for a blood test and to see if there is anything else maybe going on. Best of luck!

It's actually two seperate tests from the same box, one was just taken 12 hours before the other so it's faded a lot. I haven't been any more stressed than usual and when I do miss periods because of stress I don't spot. I've never spotted, I either have AF or I don't lol. So a faulty box of tests or fluctuating hormones seems more likely?
