No. My SIL keeps bugging me, telling me I should come a few more times. But I really enjoy spinning and really did NOT enjoy the Zumba. Doesn't make sense to me to abandon one thing I like for one I don't-I started spinning the same nights as Zumba so I would either be doubling up-spin at 5:30 and Zumba at 6:30-or have to cut the spin.

What is the calorie burn difference in the two?

I know for me, my PRE (perceived rate of exertion) is higher with spinning than it was with Zumba. Maybe if I really got the moves down I'd be able to throw myself into it a bit more and feel like working more. But it was super hard on my right knee and made my left hip-which is a chronic problem are for me-really ache and be stiff. The spinning hasn't done that for me at all. I believe when I checked with my hr monitor I burned 750ish calories spinning, maybe more because I didn't track it through the full class, just 45 minutes of it. From what I can find online Zumba is 350-900, depending on your body and the type of class and how hard you work it.

I gotcha. I would definitely stick with what you like, works for you, and has a higher calorie burn.

    Mainly bumping!

I am feeling 'lighter' than I did Wednesday when I weighed in. I got on the scale and it shows me 123.2!!! Don't know if that will stick and I'm not logging it, because it's not weigh day, but DANG! I feel lighter so that makes me think it's accurate. Who knows?!

Anyway...today is my last day to work until next Thursday. We are off m-t-w for Mardi Gras!!! Looking forward to a 5-day vacation and hoping I can still with the plan and be disciplined (I'm sure I can). It is just more 'routine'ish when I'm working.

Down another 3.2! Totally shocked!!! AF is in town (day 3) and I feel like poop. I'll take it though!!! Hadn't been to the gym since last Wednesday, ready to get back on it. I did try to stay active other ways and seems it worked!

Has anyone tried this or know someone who has tried it? I am thinking about getting it. I'm not too thrilled about the 5-day fasting part, but I think it would be a good thing to do. Just to further cleanse my body and get out the stuff that I can't with just diet and exercise. Thoughts???

I know a couple people who love doing cleanses periodically. I don't think the human body is designed to need a cleanse. It's really designed to handle most maintenance on it's own. I believe healthy choices are the best way to have a healthy body. I think repetitive use of cleanses can have a detrimental impact. Just my 2 cents.

Well thank you for your two cents, it 'makes sense'. LOL

You know how sometimes you have those days where you just feel BLAH? I have those sometimes and I know I'm fat, so that has something to do with it. I know my thyroid is fine, I've had it checked recently. I just sometimes think that I've put so much bad stuff into my body for so many years, and it's not ALL coming out. I will hit eight weeks on Wednesday (of my lifestyle change), I've been making GREAT choices in those eight weeks. I still just have those BLAH and bloated days that I wish I didn't have them.

I guess I'm looking for a 'quick fix', but maybe I will continue to just work on it the way I am and eventually not feel that way!

Thanks again for your input...it helps!

I have not done that one, but I did do the master cleanse (lemonade diet) for ten days once. I actually kind of enjoyed it and DH and I have been talking about buying a new bottle of maple syrup and doing it again. I wouldn't say it made me feel any healthier/cleaned out. But it did make me feel like I had conquered my eating habits. Like I had it given in to all my cravings and like I was completely in charge of my body and what went in to it. I don't think a cleanse is a healthy thing to do if you are doing a pretty good exercise routine-too few calories-but I don't think it's a bad thing to do every so often in general. I do a 24 hour fast once a month for religious reasons, one purpose of which is to conquer the natural/carnal man and remind mysel that my body is not in charge.

Did not weigh today, not feeling right. I will when I feel my body is back to normal, when I'm finished with my meds. I did take progress pics (2 months or 8 weeks). Though bloated, I am still pleased with the progress thus far. When I re-size them, I will post them!

Decided to weigh today. Was finally able to go to the bathroom a few times this morning (TMI) and I still don't think I'm done. Anyway...Down another 1.2, content with that! Chugging along!

I did not do measurements. I should have, but they are sometimes inaccurate. Last time I tried to do a lifestyle change I did measurements and they were never consistent. I mean, I know they're not supposed to be, but measuring in the same exact spot each time is a problem. My measurements were either too much or too little and I didn't feel confident that they were accurate. I can definitely tell in my clothes that I've lost inches, though.

Had a cheating weekend! First one since I started two months ago. I don't feel bad about it. If anything, it was a re-shock to my body. Back on the wagon today and I feel great! Going to the gym today. Hoping to have a full week (5 days) worth of some sort of exercise. It's do-able. I got my shake weight back from my mom (she had borrowed it). I need to work on my arms. I can tell I have lost some in my arms, but they are still pretty fat! I hate the way they look in short sleeves so I need to really focus on those with warmer temperatures coming soon.

I have noticed that I am losing my belly flap. Ya know, the one that comes with kids...lol. Even throughout high school when I was around 150-ish, I ALWAYS had a flat stomach. Having kids and then letting myself go, it was HUGE! The flap was just disgusting. It's almost non-existant (like where it hangs over). I mean, I still have a belly, but it's definitely going down! YAY for tiny victories.

Hit the gym last night. LOVED it. I was strangely busy for 7 p.m., but it wasn't bad. I was able to do 15 mins on the elliptical, which is really an accomplishment for me. When I first started going to the gym (beginning of Jan), I got on and could barely do 5 minutes without thinking I was dying and just couldn't not go any further. Did the treadmill for 20 mins @ 3.5 mph, 1.0 incline, then did the crunch machine. I went home and did 10 minutes of my shake weight. Overall good day.

Shake weight workout again today (shooting for 10 mins everyday), hoping to whip these arms into shape ASAP and its' so easy to do while watching TV. No gym today, probably some walking.

Good job on keeping up with the exercise. I know what you mean about the belly flap with kids. I had it with both my kids but was able to get rid of it with DS with my bootcamp and weight training sessions. It is back with DD but I know its something that I can definiltey make less visible with exercise.

Just stay with the program. Cheat weekends are perfectly fine. Specially if you have had one after 2 months...good job!

That's interesting- I'm always kind of envious when I read about people losing all these inches. Maybe it's a good thing that i didn't do my measurements!
