Unhappy I'm not sure, and I need help.

Alright so I am a 17 year old girl, still in high school. I am very scared right now because my body is going through some things and I can't quite figure out whether or not this is due to a pregnancy or what. I received my period - thank god! - but then less than 2 weeks later, it came back. I didn't think much of it until my aunt asked if I had been having sex. The same exact thing happened to her when she got pregnant. I'm trying to disregard this but I recently just started experiencing what may be "morning sickness". I can't really keep food down. My food intake has gone up - but maybe that is just in my head. I really don't know what to think...help?!

P.S. I will take a test, but I'm having trouble getting one without my parents knowing.

I've never heard of getting your cycle then bleeding again two weeks later being a sign of pregnancy. There are many reasons why you would have cycles that vary, including stress or sickness (like a virus).

If you can find a place like Planned Parenthood near you they can give you a pregnancy test, as well as test you for STDs (if you've been having unprotected sex I would definitely be tested for STDs as well).

I totally agree with above. I'd take a deep breath, I bet you're just fine and not pregnant!! I would be A LOT more concerned if you hadn't had your period, rather than it coming twice in one month.

The other thing is that it's REALLY easy to talk yourself into morning sickness symptoms! Being constantly worried about the possibility of being pregnant at 17 is enough to make anyone nauseous off and on!

Also, on the food intake, I think you'll find that most people don't start eating more until the morning sickness goes away around week 12... usually it's a fight to make yourself eat ANYTHING those first few weeks when you're feeling horribly!

Have you had any other symptoms? Peeing a lot? Sore breasts? Crazy sensitive sense of smell? Seems like most people get those before the morning sickness hits.

And lastly, if you're not ready to have a baby use some protection! Planned parenthood can help with that as well. If you don't protect yourself, you WILL eventually get pregnant!

Best of luck, keep us updated!

I thought that I was pregnant MANY times when I was your age (I'm only 19); I fooled around, unprotected.. for almost 4 years before I got pregnant.. (was not trying, but not preventing).

It's WAY harder than you think it is to get pregnant, in most cases.. and why does it matter if your parents find out if you buy one? I bet they'd be happy that you were being responsible and trying to find out!

Maybe you can get a girl friend to get you one? Or an aunt or cousin or something?

    Keep us updated!

Just wanted to post one more thing.... for some people it takes years to get pregnant... for others, it takes one time. My sister has conceived all three of her children having sex one time (with her DH, so they were trying but not doing anything other than not protecting themselves). So although it's "normal" for couples with no fertility problems to tkae up to one year to conceive, there are plenty of people that have "surprise" pregnancies after only a few encounters. Not worth the risk if you ask me... I thought having a newborn was TOUGH when I was 28 and married... I can't imagine in your teens and unmarried...

I got pregnant with my son by "one" time. This time I got pregnant pretty easily too. So it is all about timing and what not.

With that being said, I bet your symptoms you are experiencing are from stress of thinking you might be pregnant. Good luck.
