    Default Birth control question

H'okay, so... I'm on ortho micronor, the minipill. DH and I DTD yesterday morning and I forgot to take the pill last night. I took it the night before and this is the first time I've missed it, so do I need to worry?

    TIA!

You are allowed to miss one pill a month. Anything over an hour is considered a missed pill. If this is the first time, you should be fine. Do know that the mini pill does have less hormones in it, making your "hour" window more like a 15-20 minute window to be the 99% accurate.

Anytime you miss a pill, you need to worry a little. I can't remember if those are the type you double up the next day when you miss one or not. Call your gyn and ask.

Or you could take a Plan B. It is an over the counter pill you can get at any pharmacy. It is like taking 4 birth control pills at once. I took one when I was on the mini pill after my son. It is NOT an abortion pill and if this just happened, you are in the 72 hour window for it to work.

I was told when I start the mini pill after this pregnancy you cannot miss one at all and you need to take it at the same time everyday. I agree with Rye though if you're very concerned then I'd try Plan B, especially if you're not ready for another child right now.

Ok, I'll have to call the gyn anyway. I'm nursing and am not sure what Plan B would do to my supply, so if it turns out I do need to take it I'll try to pump some more first. Thanks, ladies!
