That was hilarious and I have to say - I'm a little ashamed to admit this - but it made me cry a little bit, during the science fair section. All those earnest children. DS keeps telling me he wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

Funny and scary. Anyone that thinks that scientists are rolling in dough ought to just look up how much someone doing basic science actually makes - after going to the trouble of getting a PhD and a post-doc.

That "scientists are in it for thair own finan-shual gain!" is just a lame personal attack from people who lack the intellectual tools to make a real case against the science. The level of dismissiveness in some of these naysayers towards basic logic is staggering.
