    Default Middle name suggestions!

If this baby is a girl, I'm pretty much 100% sure we will name her Renee I'm now trying to think of a middle name for her! I really wanted to use my Grandmas name for a middle name, her name was Patricia, but i'm not sold on how it sounds. Idealy I would like to use a name that is in the family, but they all seem awkward sounding to me, I wanted to know if you ladies thought the same thing?

    Family names are...

    Patricia
    Mary( or maybe Maria?)
    Claire
    Jennifer
    Helen
    Ellen

...I dont know, not too keen on them! But they all mean a lot to me!

Also, if anyone has any suggestions of names that sound nice with Renee I would love to hear them!

    Renee is my middle name!

I like Renee Claire from the list...

What about middle names of family members instead of first names? Any winners there?

Renee Claire of the ones you posted... could you do Renee Marie instead of Renee Mary? I know Marie is popular for a middle name, but there's a reason- it sounds good with everything!

I think Renee Patricia sounds nice together. But if you aren't sold on it, what about Renee Patrice? It's not quite Patricia, but maybe a variation to still honor her?

This was my first thought, too!! Renee Patrice is a beautiful name!

    I also like Renee Claire

Renee Marie and Renee Claire are my favs.

I think Renee Patricia is fine too if that is the one you really want to use that name. Patricia Renee flows well too, can you call her by her middle name? I also like the Renee Patrice suggestion.

    Thanks for your input ladies!

Two of those names are middle names already! slim pickins! I really like Marie. Renee Marie ...Does it sound a little vowel-y though? Marie is a good to go middle name though, much like Grace! Which is mine and my daughters.
I thought Patrice was the male version of Patricia or...wasn't it the female version of Patrick? I'm not really a fan of Patrice, but thanks for the suggestion!

I don't know if I like Renee Patricia.... Maybe it needs a little bit of time with me and I'll start liking it more (i'm glad I have some time to think!) I know that Patricia Renee flows very smoothly, but I want her first name to be Renee! Infact, I think Renee is a beautiful sounding middle name to a lot of names, but a little awkward to pair a middle name too! i'm glad some of you think Renee Patricia sounds nice! Dh thinks it's a tad awkward sounding as well....I WANT to like it!

Keep suggestions coming if you think of anything!

    I like Renee Claire also.

Other things I think sound nice with Renee:
    Renee Michelle
Renee Elise (that might be too many e's, but they don't have the same sound)
    Renee Vivian

For my PERSONAL taste, I actually like Renee as a middle name rather than a first name. Patricia Renee sounds better than Renee Patricia and you could still call her Renee. However, of the names already mentioned, I think Renee Claire sounds nice, as does Renee Michelle.

I do like Patricia Renee better than Renee Patricia, and you could always call her by her middle name if you wanted.

I prefer Patricia Renee as well. From your options probably Renee Claire flows best imo, but I also just like the name Claire for a middle name (I considered it when I was expecting DS to be a DD).
    Me (26), DH (31), DD (3), and DS (1).

I vote Renee Claire. Renee Patricia has too many syllables. It just doesn't flow or something. :/ But Renee Claire sounds really nice!!!

Renee is really cute! I like Renee Claire the best of your options. I'm not crazy about Patricia as a first name but Renee Patricia is really nice. If you don't like it then how about using your Grandma's middle name?

If none of the names is quite doing it for you then you could do variations on the names, e.g. Ginevra or Guinevere for Jennifer (I know they're a little out there, just throwing out ideas!), Elena for Ellen/Helen, etc.

    I also like:

    Renee Lillian
    Renee Juliet
    Renee Charlotte
    Renee Caroline

I'm liking some of the suggestions ladies, thank you! I wanted to add, I think I need to steer clear of a one syllable middle name because our last name is one syllable so it sounds a little choppy. (As in, Claire I think is out) As pretty as I think it sounds...

I like Renee Charlotte. Dh actually suggested Charlotte as a first name so he will would definitely like it for middle.

I keep saying Renee Patricia in my head, trying to decide how awkward it actually is...maybe its not so bad?! I dont know! I am hoping something comes a long and I will 'just know'!

I appreciate specific suggestions, because my eyes glaze over my baby name books as I look over list upon lists of names, so thank you!

I have a short choppy single syllable last name also, rhymes with "cough". We have used single syllable middle names for 3 of our kids and I think they sound fine. I wouldn't do it for a first name, though my husband goes by Rob so it sounds normal.

Just go with what you love, and it will work just fine!

My grandma's middle name is actually Patricia. Her first name is Lois. She really disliked her first name and decided to go by her middle..... See I think 'Renee Lois' flows so perfectly, that is the kind of feel i'm looking for! But I guess I can't honour her with a name that she purposely avoided all her life!

My first daughter has a one syllable middle and last name, but her first name is three syllables, so it flows alot more smoothly than it would with Renee.... imo!

I like this, or Renee Maria. Renee is tough as a first name, they don't all flow together as much you'd like :/

    Good luck!

Thanks for all the input! It's a big decision! I am considering Renee Kathryn (after an aunt). I'm going to let Renee Patricia sit with me for a little while and see what I think about it in a few months!

    Thanks for all the suggestions!
