    Default The Ministry of Motherhood

I'm reading this book by Sally Clarkson (title in the title of this post )

I'm reading it slowly as I don't have a lot of time but let me tell you...it's GOOD!

The front of the book says "Following Christ's example in reaching the hearts of our children"

It's a lot about giving them (and ourselves) some grace. About when we're tired and just want the day to be over not to rush bedtime because Christ was patience towards his disciples and that is how we are to be towards our children.

Here are a couple of favorite quotes from it so far...

"If I want them to be open to my messages, I need to be willing to serve them-to voluntarily give up my rights and my time to meet their felt needs-just as Jesus was willing to give for his disciples."

"Passing on the gift of grace to our children requires a commitment-and yes, a scarifice-of time, love and heart service. ...The grace they show to others will largely come from parents who learned it first from our own servant King."

Reading these first few chapters has really touched my heart and has helped me to think before I act/react our of frustration because they aren't listening, moving fast enough, thinking about their actions and words.

I highly suggest buying this one guys! Good stuff!!!!

Good to know! I seriously cannot read (or comprehend much) right now. It's too taxing. And I love reading.

Thanks for the recommendation! My library doesn't have it - so I will be on the lookout for a cheap used one. I see she has another called The Mission of MOtherhood...anyone read that?
