Karen...tsk, tsk shame on you oh-well, I am sure you had fun at the restaurat!

Amanda, home life????? On a daily basis and I think that little smiley guy is poking him with his middle finger! But, i am home with the girls by myself until about 8pm every night and they go to bed at 8:30 so, it is not hard to keep it civil for them. But, it's like he.wants.to.argue.every.single.night!!!!! About nothing and stupid stuff! I just smile and go on my merry way because I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Cassandra, sorry about the PITA university but thank you for reminding me! My son is a PROCRASTINATOR and you reminded me to ask him about advising!

I do have another great weekend to look forward to though...husband is gone the majority of the weekend for basketball .

Okay...I confess. I was a at restaurant that also has a bar and I spent my time on the bar side. It was a lot more fun than a divorce seminar, I'm sure.

Dee Dee, enjoy your nice quiet week. I'm sure it'll be a lot less stressful with him gone for the week.

I am bored at work today. There is noooobody here today!

So I am trying to wean Eli off the boob, and it hurts sooo bad. I keep breaking down and breastfeeding him just so I can get some relief. I know this is counterproductive. I'm going to have to be strong this weekend and get through it. I feel like I have two boulders on my chest.

University is closed today so we're just hanging out at home! We're pretty boring.

I'm thinking I'll probably take Bella's Christmas photos this weekend since I need to start putting together Christmas cards soon. I also make a large photobook of Bella for my dad every Father's day and Christmas so each one basically covers six months of her life that I need to work on. I love seeing his face when he opens them!

Cassandra, I've noticed that your siggy pics always look really good. Do you have a really good camera or are you into photography?

Both! Photography is a big hobby of mine, helps with the insanity of being a single mom and full time student.

I know nothing about cameras but I need to upgrade from my cell phone. I do want to get a camera, hopefully soon, so do you have a brand that you suggest? I know nothing about cameras so I will be totally lost.

I can't say I know how it feels but I can send you some sympathy.

Cassandra, I agree...your siggy photos are awesome! Do you do photography for others? If not, you should. Your photos are very professional looking. What kind of camera do you have? I got a nice DSLR camera last year for Christmas and I love it but I really need some lessons on it.

I do sometimes do photo shoots for others, it's always a ton of fun. I really enjoy it! I have a Nikon and about 5 different lenses I rotate between regularly.

Cassandra, since you are the group camera expert from what I can see...

I probably need to upload some photos to ask you what the problem is but I am going to try to describe it first. I take photos at my kids basketball games and sadly, even when I have the flash on it comes out dark (like a dark orangish color). If I put it on indoor sports mode, the color is great but it is super shaky & . I have a Canon Rebel DSLR...any idea what is wrong????

Can I just say what an AWESOME day I'm having today? It's such a rare occurrence that I thought I should share. Totally rocking it out at work, getting rid of the pile of work that's been taunting me the past few weeks. Managed to stay late for a few hours to play catch up and now I'm feeling a lot less overwhelmed.

Add into the mix that this chick is on fire and you've got a winner! Let's just say that I'm really looking forward to this weekend and upcoming week.

Karen, catching up on work is always such an awesome feeling. Right now I'm playing catch-up with grading papers. I have to say that's the worse part of being a teacher...all the stupid papers. We just had parent/teacher conferences and already it's time to enter the next quarter midterm grades. It never ends!!

So glad you are having an awesome day and looking forward to the weekend and upcoming week.

    Way to go Karen!

I have my fingers crossed that tomorrow when I get paid I will have enough money to pay off my sons car... I should know around 6:30 in the morning when I get up b/c our paychecks are direct deposited.

Other than that, it is status quo with me. Slowly trudging through it a day at a time...

Wow! I know that was your goal by the end of the year. That is awesome!

My weekend was good. Eli was super good this weekend and I was able to get a lot done.
He shocked me last night. He went from his belly to sitting up! I read that they usually don't do that until like 8 months. He amazes me every day.

Dee Dee, that's awesome...congrats on paying off the car!

Amanda, Eli is getting SO big, I can't believe it.

Where are our other single moms at these days? Hopefully they are doing well and just busy with their little ones.

I had a great weekend, maybe a bit too good and I paid for it today. Was totally exhausted, think the very late night/early mornings caught up with me. Oh well, at least it was well worth it.

How was everyone else's weekend? Anyone do anything fun and exciting?

I have the week off from school for Thanksgiving, so I'm visiting my parents and giving them some time to chase the toddler. Looking forward to shopping and cutting down a Christmas tree on Friday!

Cassandra, hope you are enjoying your 'time off' from chasing around your gorgeous little girl. Enjoy your time off school as well, it's probably very welcome at this point in the school year.

Last day of work for the week!!!! Woohoo!

Where is everyone going for Thanksgiving? Anyone actually making the dinner themselves?

I will be going to my mom's this year. I hear the weather should be nice too, low 70's!

Dee Dee your girls are sooo cute!

I'm headed down to my grandparents' house in Tucson for Thanksgiving. We always go there for Thanksgiving and then they come up here for Christmas. My grandma cooks most everything. I make the mashed potatoes for everyone, but my own stuffing because I truly do not like the one she makes. She adds onions and nuts and I think it's just gross, so she lets me make my own box of stove top. Dressing happens to be my favorite dish at Thanksgiving too.

This is another "first" that is a tough one. We did invite my DH to come down at least for the day but he declined. It just won't be the same without him.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!!

I love stove top also!!!! That will be our dressing tomorrow.

Thank you all for the compliments on the girls .

I am making Thanksgiving dinner. I hope to create traditions at my house that my kids will continue. I grew up in a VERY dysfunctional household and my childhood pretty much sucked. I hope to make my kids lives better and let them see how holidays should be celebrated.

Thanksgiving dinner will include my, the husband and the 4 kids. I believe it will be a last and I am actually looking forward to that b/c it is so sad to have my family divided. DS21 and the husband do not speak to each other so it is very sad when we do "family" things and I see the division.

Although...I LOVE to eat so, I am really looking forward to dinner tomorrow!

Also, it is a tradition at our house to hang Christmas lights after Thanksgiving dinner. I enjoy it much more than my oldest son though . He is 6'7" tall so it is his job to hang the lights. He doesn't need a ladder and just walks around the house hanging them. It is pretty amazing but he says it's not fair . Poor kid, it's a rough life being so freaking tall!

I am a chatter box tonight...Another very awesome thing is my boys got their rings for making it to the Elite Eight basketball championship last year. I will have to figure out how to post a picture of it since I am now a little bit better at putting pics on my computer. I hope to be able to show it off to you all this weekend.

for the end of a work week on a Wednesday

I am spending Thanksgiving with my mom, my girl, my brother and his girlfriend. My mom cooks up a nice big meal despite it only being 5 of us eating. I cant wait! Since so many sales start that night, we'll be heading to Toys R Us around 8pm because there's a 9pm doorbuster deal I want to get for Bella. Then Friday, we'll head out to choose and cut down a Christmas tree.

I haven't yet decided what I'm doing for Thanksgiving. Really not feeling it this year. Dh will have the kids so I'm on my own for the first time. Was going to do dinner with my dad until I remembered the last time I saw him when he told me I was making the biggest mistake of my life, leaving my 'good' husband and messing up my kids in the process. Just can't deal with that right now so I've taken that option off the table. Might just go into work for a bit to get caught up some more then hang at home by myself. Could go to my mom's house but she's an hour away and not planning on cooking anyway. My friend invited me over to her family's gathering as did a co-worker but I don't think I'd feel comfortable at either place. Guess I'll wait and see how I feel in the morning.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Cassandra, what is your door buster deal you are wanting? (I am trying to come up with ideas for my girls)

Oh yeah Cassandra, did you see the question I asked above about dark photos in the gym? Hoping you have an easy solution for me

Karen, sorry about Thanksgiving I know it has to be tough. You can always come to our house!

We are staying home today and I am just cooking for myself and the LO's..This is a first. I was going to go to my grandmother's but decided not to (more insight on that in my thread in special needs).

(smiley guy wiping his forehead) Whew! I am done with some black Friday Christmas shopping. I got good deals so it was worth it but, I think I am coming down with a cold or something, I just haven't felt well for about a week now.

I had to finally give in and go to the doctor yesterday. Sinus infection and bronchitis. Antibiotics and I am already feeling better today.

My girls have been awesome but the husband...see my post in ranting!

Yikes, tis the season to be sick. Glad everyone is on the mend finally.

Can I just say how happy I am that Thanksgiving is behind us? I'm not at all looking forward to Christmas. I've never really been into it and I could just overlook it this year if it weren't for the kids. Come on New Years!

On a lighter note, I'm leaving on Friday to go to CA and visit two of my friends and take a side trip to Vegas. Should be a blast! I'm signed up to run the half marathon this Sunday on the strip in Vegas. I haven't been running in FOREVER nor have I been to the gym either. Went on Saturday morning and eeked out 9 miles. I wanted 10 but I just couldn't push out that last mile. Feeling a bit better about the half. I know it won't be pretty, but I should at least be able to finish which is my only goal.
