Blah. It was a nice big loss all in one chunk. And I guess at least I've maintained for about 2 weeks now. But I'd rather have it coming off a pound or two at a time, nice and consistent. I hate this pattern of dropping like 5 pounds, plateauing for a month or three or five, and then dropping a bit more.

We were just on a long weekend trip and ate out a lot. I didn't track but I didn't gain any and didn't work out at all, so that's good. Today is back to tracking and spinning tonight. I'm excited to get back on the bike. I haven't been since Thursday and it feels forever!

Good job on being able to get back to the gym. That is always tough even after a short break. Atleast you are maintaing...I know the feeling though of plateauing. Have fun in the spin class.

Tif, my loss has been similar. A pound or two loss...stall for weeks. A pound or two...stall. ASSES.

So....my scale is stupid. No really, it's the scale and not my body! I got frustrated with it this weekend. I'd get on it naked and it would say the exact same thing it said a few minutes earlier with clothes on-like tennis shoes, jeans and a sweatshirt. No way the clothes shouldn't have had some difference-the shoes at least! So I finally remembered why this is my OLD scale and I have bought a new one. For some stupid reason I have left the new one in the garage-I think so I wouldnt' obsess about it if I had to run out stark naked into the freezing garage

So, this morning I am at a new low of 188.4!!! That makes 14.9 pounds down which means only 5.4 pounds to go for my first 10% loss goal which means I'm almost 1/3 the way there. 60 pounds is my big goal-although I truly think I'll get to 40-50 pounds and feel happy with it. I haven't weighed 140 in about 12 years when I lost 20 pounds my first year of college. Prior to kids I sat in the 150-165 range and was really happy with my body so I'll be happy just to get back to 160 I think. But I'm keep the goal bigger because otherwise as I get closer to that 160 range I'll slack off if I start thinking "oh, I'm at 175. I'm almost there, it's all good. I can eat those blizzards three days in a row if I want..."

My "new" jeans (I got them in November but they were the last pair of new jeans I've bought) are too big. I can slide them right off without unbuttoning them. I think they're a 15/16. Maybe a 13/14. They're from Maurices so they're a nice low cut which is what I like. I have a bunch of pants I bought post c-section which come up to my belly button but I won't wear those. Too uncomfortable. So i guess I'll be shopping for new pants soon! I had made John a deal that when I lost 20 pounds I could buy new clothes if I needed, but until then I just have to deal. So 5 more pounds to go!

Excellent job Tif. 14.9 lbs is awesome!!! You can definiltey acheive the 10% in a couple of weeks.

Sliding out of your jeans is probably the best feeling ever. I love it when my clothes slide in a out At that point of time, the scale loss seems insignificant.

Yay for a future new wardrobe. I am on a shopping ban (imposed myself) since I have a lot of good/new clothes at a smaller size in the closet but would definitely reward myself with shoes and accesories as soon as I am a goal size.

You are doing great! 14.9...woohoo!!!! Isn't it great when clothes just fit different and it really sinks in that the weight is coming off?

I love the deal for new clothes at 20lbs. Keep up the hard work!

So I have taken a few pictures. The first two are from a family reunion in September when I was at 203lbs. In the first one I am the one on the left. Then a family one-John has lost almost thirty pounds since the picture and his face/neck really show it. Then some pictures at 195lb in December, and finally tonight at 188lb. I feel like my love handles are finally disappearing. That and my post c-section lower tummy!

Wow..just wow on the progress Tiff...This looks way more than 7 lb weight loss to me, which is a good thing as it means you are keeping some muscle and its showing in your shape. Great going. Your hardwork at the spin class is paying off

I am home from spring break. Last week seemed like a super long week! I had a goal to work out every day at the fitness center at the resort...and got there and discovered my workout clothes and shoes were all 15 hours away at home!? No fun. But we played in the snow two days and swam three of the days, so I was at least moving a bit. And while we did eat out on the drive to and from Idaho, while there we ate really healthy and well balanced meals. It was so nice having John around all the time-he did most of the cooking and he is an awesome veggie chef!

So I got on the scale this morning to see the damage...I was only up .4lb! That was so nice to see. And it was after my spin class and 1L of water, so chances are I didn't actually gain ANY weight! I bought a new swimsuit on the drive out there. John picked it out and for the first time in a long time my problem area wasn't my entire body, but was just my boobs. And that's nothing new-I've been hating on their size since I was 19 so at least I'm back to that! Obviously there are plenty of areas my body needs work on, but I wasn't having problems fitting or feeling good in the suits. The one John picked...is very busty. Like super low cut to where I wonder if it's family-appropriate! It's a tankini so it's got full coverage everywhere else...and I don't feel frumpy in it, so that's good I guess! And it'll keep fitting as I lose weight so I don't feel bad about having bought it before reaching my goal.

Last night's spin class was pretty easy-I was worried getting back on the saddle after 12 days away. But this morning was BRUTAL! I thought it was just me until the gal in there who is a professional body builder was dripping sweat and talking about how it kicked her tail. Then I felt pretty good knowing it wasn't just me being a wimp!

Spin again tomorrow and Thursday. Tomorrow I'm also going to be getting up early and doing either a pilates video or going for a run-depends on the weather. It's pouring here in Salem and I believe it is supposed to stay that way until Saturday so I might not get out for any runs quite yet.

Yesterday I went for my first run since I got married-8 years ago. Ack! I hurt all over! But I still made it to my spin class last night and again this morning. Took the girls to school and them back to the gym for 30 minutes with the weights and then an hour long YoPi (yoga/Pilates) class which kicked my tail! The Pilates was fine, but this was my first ever yoga class, I've only done videos-and the good balance I thought I had? Not so much! I hurt from running but other than that I feel good. No more spin until Saturday morning but I am hoping to go for a run and get some weights in tomorrow. Or I might pack along my bike and ride it if the rain stays away!

I haven't been in your thread in a while but it looks like you are doing great!! I read a thread in random about running and I was wondering if I could myself to do a quick run during nap time. So glad that you had a good spring break & that you are being so active! That's a lifestyle change that will pay off long after you drop the rest of the weight that you want to lose.

Ugh. I have been so sick for two weeks. Today is the first day I've woken up feeling alive. I did go to spin this morning and it felt so good to sweat! I'm fighting my way back from mono so I'm going to just do three days a week of spinning for awhile. Good news is even with no exercise and poor eating habits (we've had a lot of fast food because I've been so sick and not cooking) I am down to a new low of 185.8! 183.1 is my first 10% loss and will be officially 20 pounds, which is the number goal I set for being able to go buy new jeans so I'm almost there!!!

I have had such a rotten time lately. Ugh. I got so sick in April and then the end of April I got an infection in my toe and had to have a minor surgery on it which led to another infection. 6 weeks later and I can just now wear shoes all day! I had been lucky to maintain at 185 through all that, but then last weekend we went on a quick trip to CA and I gained 5 pounds on that trip!? I've dropped 4 of them back to 186 luckily. I went spinning this morning and am really working on my eating and portions again so hopefully this will be a good restart. John and I are joining a different gym next week-it's one run by Salvation Army with a few pools and lots of classes, 2 hours a day of childcare for the girls, etc. He is going to swim with me while I train for my sprint triathlon in September!

Well I've been playing tag with about 2.5 pounds for the last week and a half. I do feel like I've finally dropped it and am solidly 186...hopefully to never go above again!

I am doing a sprint triathlon in September. With school out my schedule has gotten a bit out of whack. The gym I have a membership and spin at is 15 miles away and since there is no school I don't go out there every day anymore. I finally convinced DH to get a family membership at the salvation army KROC center-like a YMCA-so we did that last week. The girls and I went swimming for about 90 minutes yesterday-which was basically water walking for me. Then I went to a spin class...it will take a lot of getting used to and open mindedness on my part to get over the differences of the class and see it for its positives. I will still spin at my old gym on Saturdays, I think.

The main reasons I wanted to join this particular gym was childcare-two hours per day included-and the pools. There is a leisure pool with a slide and lazy river, etc for the girls. But there's also a huge lap pool. I went this morning at 6 and swam my 10-laps in about 15 minutes! I have never swam anything other than leisurely. I was a bit surprised at how tough it was-I don't think I held the same stroke for more than 2 laps. John is supposed to come swim with me a few evenings a week, and I am meeting a friend who is also training for the sprint tri on Tuesday mornings. Then my spin classes 3-5 days a week plus treadmill those days. Friday will be my long-run day. I'd like to move beyond the 5K world and be doing 10k and eventually a half marathon. My hip is bugging a little but spinning doesn't bother it and I think swimming will help ease some of the ache it gets from the running. I hope.

Good luck! I've been wanting to complete a sprint triathlon, but I don't know how to swim. I hope that you acclimate to the new spin class quickly!

I've gone to the new spin class 3 different days and had 3 different teachers. Kind of curious if today's teacher is yet another one or if any of the teachers teach more than once! I really enjoyed yesterday's class...it was an instructor who has sub'd at my old gym so she did "normal" stuff. These other two teachers are all kinds of whacked out with their "hills" which aren't really hills and "sprints" where you're not really supposed to go all out...or maybe I'm just set in my ways

I swam again this morning. My 500m time on Tuesday was ~15 minutes-not bad at all for my first time ever swimming laps! Today it was closer to 12! I have a goal to have it solidly at 10 by the sprint tri and I think I might actually accomplish that without too much trouble!

I had John take measurements this morning for the first time since May 2. I was at my lowest weight that day-185. Today I'm 186.6 and while I did increase in my bust, I did have an overall loss of 1 inch in those 6 weeks during which I was basically not doing WW or exercising, so that's good! I'm down 17" since 12/28!

I have a friend who sells something call Advocare. She lives up in WA so I haven't been able to go to any of her little get togethers about it, but she is pushing me to try some stuff. I'm not really interested in doing their 20 day challenge-I do pretty well keeping my food on track if I focus on it which is all that would really accomplish for me-but I am thinking of getting one of the energy drinks they have and then a metabolism boosting vitamin thing...we'll see. I kind of hate to buy into that stuff, but she had hit a bad plateau with her X-fit training and started taking this stuff and has seen great results working through that plateau, so maybe...

I've been a bit discouraged lately. Had a girls weekend last weekend wih my three besties and realized I'm now the fat friend I'm not unhealthy-labs are great, I can bike further than any of them, run a 5k in just under 30 minutes, keep up with of them. But I'm the fat one and I don't like it. So back to the grind stone. I'm finally taking a multi-vitamin daily-I haven't done that since I was pregnant last-and I started running. I'm down 22.75 inches since the start of the year and down 25 pounds since last July...but I have another 30-40 I'd like to lose. Thursday I have another foot surgery and I'm hoping I bounce back faster than the 8 weeks it took me last time. I'll swim four days a week in the mean time, I think. I'm at a new low of 184.6 and it seems to be sticking around this time

You have come so far! I know it is hard not to be discouraged but try to focus on how far you have come and the great physical strength you have gained!
