I'm sure you're fine with the little splurge, that is a lot of extra points!

At least you're getting back on track! Great job on the workouts!!

Another awesome spin morning! I really wish we lived out here. I would definitely be trying some of their other mornig classes! I guess I could do spin on M-Th if I went to the MW classes in the evening, but that seems overkill!

I had a bowl of oatmeal this mornig and have no clue what my plan for the day will be yet. DH has a gym in the basement at work which costs him a measly $32/YEAR and yesterday he joined their bootcamp which is a whole $15/month on top of it. I hate how cheap his gym is compared to mine! But I need to step it up because he loses weight fast and easy which makes my goal of never weighing more than him harder to maintain! He is still about 30 pounds over me, but if my scale doesn't move he will hit goal, which is where I'm at, before I drop!

I wish I had time to do a spinning class. It's a huge calorie burner. You are doing a great job, Tif!

Just keep doing what you're doing, you'll get there!

Men are pigs! LOL (j/k, sorta) My husband and I were talking about that also. He doesn't really need to lose any weight, just tone up! He would accomplish in one week, what would take me about five months!!! They make me sick sometimes!!!

I am loving the spin class! Who knew! I think I love it because it works me hard-I have a tough time making it through the whole thing-but after it is over and my HR has recovered I feel awesome. My legs aren't all jell-o like after a hard go on the elliptical. My hip has not bugged me at all! My muscles in my thighs aren't sore at all which I find odd because I'm working them pretty hard. The good thing about all that is I feel like it is sustainable for me. So often I do a workout and it hurts so much afterward that I decide to give myself a few days off and that stretches into a week or two or a month. My butt was a bit tender yesterday but I hear after three classes you peak and then as long as you keep with it you should be good. Tomorrow is my fourth class so we'll see!

No workout this morning. I walked the girls to school-about a mile round trip-and them had to help my mom take a bunch of dogs to the vet so no time for the gym. I did do ten minutes of planks-2m on, 1m off-and this evening I plan to either do Jillian michael's shred or else a workout on the EA Active Wii.

How long do you spin at one time, what is the rpm you spin at in that period of time? Just curious. They offer spin classes at a new fitness center in our area and I am thinking about trying it out. When I do ride the bike, I normally stay around 90-100 rpms cycling for about 10 minutes. Just worried, cause I'm clueless, if I could hang in a spinning class.

When I do a regular stationary bike I keep it at about 100rpm also and usually do 30-45min before I get bored. For the spin class it's about 55 minutes of active cycle time, including the warm up and cool down and then five of stretching. The bikes are totally basic and have no computer so I have no clue what rpm I'm at through it. I know I'm not at 100 the whole time. It's great because it's more about PRE-perceived rate of exertion-which is different for every person. When the instructor says to put the dial at a three, that's at YOUR three, not some set number on the dial. Everyone's 3/10 is going to be different. Just like how fast you pedal during your jog (butt up out of the seat) or your sprints (seated, pedaling as fast as you can) or the hills (increasing the resistance by 1/4 turn every so often) is going to be different. I'm probably one of the slower ones, but I don't stop and I keep moving those pedals. My first class I did stay seated through some of the segments where everyone else was up out of the seat. But it was either that or I quit, and if I had quit I know I wouldn't have gone back on Tuesday. Since last Saturday I can now do all those up/down segments and only skimp on a few quarter turns for the hills. And it feels so good!

Cool. I might give it a try. I will probably be dying after the first 20-30 minutes!!! LOL Sounds a little intimidating. Might need to do some more cycling on my own first before taking it on. We shall see. Thanks for sharing and way to stick it out!

Another awesome spin class this morning. Now we are going out to take the dog for a jog. I'm backing off on food for a few days. Just going to do smoothies for breakfast and lunch and then grilled salmon and a spinach salad for dinner tonight. I'm frustrated because after that drop on Tuesday I have done nothing but climb on he scale. I should just not get on it. I've dropped three overall inches since the last time I measured in January, so I guess that's good. It just seems like every time I get in a workout groove I pile back on the weight.

Just got on the scale-yeah, I totally should know better since my WI day isn't until Wednesday -and I'm still up a pound from last week, but at least I'm not up like 7 pounds like I was on one day this past week!

Hoping to make it to my first Zumba class this evening. I'll look like a total tool, and I'm worried that the movements might hurt my hip-amazingly spinning hasn't touched it!-but I'm going to give it one fair shake and see how it goes. I just took measurements again-I figured if I'm not going to obsess over the scale I might as well obsess over the measuring tape! My hips are down an inch since like Thursday! That's awesome. Nothing else has budged, but my hips and love handles are my real problem areas, so this is movement in the right direction!

The scale is just holding on to all the water that has built up in your muscle from all the amazing workout you did last week. The weight loss will definitely show up in a few days! Great job on the inches. I am also trying to focus only on the inches and how my clothes fit me. The exercising will make you hold on to some weight before it shows up on the scale so be patient!

As for Zumba...I think it is the only class where I feel anybody can feel like a 'tool' and totally get away with it. I have been to classes where I have seen older men do Zumba and it actually very cute. Most of the instructors are very non-judgemental and very encoraging to newbies. Get ready for your legs to feel the burn!

No Zumba today. My dumb brother decided he wanted to go to the gym at the same time as his wife. He's off all day today and could go any time, but told her he wanted to go with her. Not to do Zumba, just to do a regular work out Oh well. I would probably be dying tomorrow morning at my spin class if I went to Zumba the night before! There is a yoga class at 5:30 that I might see if I can get in to, if my parents are around to watch the girls since I know DH won't be home yet. Otherwise, I'll just jump on the elliptical once they're in bed.

I'm doing my fall back breakfast and lunch of Slim Fast shakes today, and then I've got a banana and string cheese for a snack and an apple and peanut butter this afternoon for snack. Dinner tonight will probably be white chili since I have some left from Super Bowl yesterday.

I went and did some circuit training this morning and then very last minute this evening
mom was able to be home with the girls and told me to go to Zumba. So I went. And it was ridiculous. I don't know if I'll go again. I far prefer spinning at 5:30am! I felt like I never got even one move down pat and I spent more than half the hour trying to catch up and stay out of the way of the others! My SIL was with me and she swears I did fine and that indie way better than she did on her first time...which makes me think she must have been super horrible! I just don't have the rhythm to keep up. But I think whenever I can I will try to make the M/W evening classes since I will be out there already staying the night for spin. I'm curious how spinning will go in the morning, after working out twice today. Zumba really bugged my knees so hopefully they'll feel ok in the morning!

Today was weigh in and I was up a pound from yesterday. I am so over my body hanging on to water! I'm ready for my hard work to show on there! Five days a week of an hour or more of intense working out combined with never going over, and always eating my alloted amount, on weight watchers...this is just frustrating and depressing.

Well that sucks that you did not have a good time at Zumba. I'm sure it takes a few times to get use to though. I would probably benefit from 'beginners zumba', rather than going straight into zumba. Don't give up, try again or a few more times and see how it goes. As for the water weight, try a natural diuretic. Lemon in warm or hot water is a natural diuretic.

Don't get frusterated...I know the feeling though. Stay strong and confident and it will come of!

I went to a spin class tonight at 5:30 and am really hoping tomorrow morning's 5:30 class doesn't kick my trash because of it! I am hoping to get to five spin classes a week-5:30pm Mon, 5:30am T, 5:30pm W, 5:30am Th, 8am Sat. Those back to back classes are going to be tough but I am really liking the class so hopefully they'll work out. I am getting a pair of spin shoes this week hopefully. Tomorrow I'm going to check out the local bike shops and if I have to I will go up to REI on Wednesday.

Still no new weight loss. In fact I've gained two pounds since starting the classes and they don't seem to be going anywhere. But I feel really good after the classes so I'm going to stick with them. I took new measurements and since starting spinning I have lost five inches!

John and I did the 30 day shred last night before bed. We had a goal to get up and do it again this morning...but I'm too lazy and turned the alarm off before he heard it I can get up at 5 easily when it's for my spin class-when I'm actually leaving the house-but I think I was jus up too late last night. Oh well. Tonight is another spin class, and will be my first time using my new spin shoes!

On another note-the scale and I are still not speaking. Today is my weigh in day and I haven't budged. I'm trying hard not to be discouraged. Six months on WW and I have lost a measly 10 pounds, none of which has been lost since Thanksgivimg despite upping my activity level and spinning five days a week. I wonder if I need to start eating all my points? I don't tend to touch my activity points and only dip into my flex points here and there.

I'm scratching my head here...that is a little mind-boggling. STAY POSITIVE! Try eating all your points for a couple-few weeks and see if that helps.

AF showed up today more than a week early. I think maybe I'm holding onto some weight because of that-it would help explain why I haven't lost any. Five intense spin classes and three days of the 30 day shred and I've been on-plan for eating. Something's got to give soon!

I'm off to spin again at 8 tomorrow and the. DH is going to make me join him in day 4 of the shred. Not sure on food. I think eggs and bacon for breakfast; cucumber and cottage cheese with turkey for lunch; rice with pico and chicken for dinner.

I am down 10.75 inches since Dec 28! 193.6 today which is four pounds up from three weeks ago. Annoying. But since AF is here I am hoping once she is gone I will drop that. I'm going to try and focus extra hard on my eating this week and see if that will help.

I did Day three of the Shred last night with DH, spin this morning and then as soon as I got home we did Day 4 of the Shred. The girls did it along with us...hilarious to watch!

Last night was a pretty easy spin class. It was the instructor's first time teaching...and you could tell. I hope she gets better at it quickly. I know she is the yoga and pilates instructor so I think she was just filling in for the spin class. Then I went again this morning and it was another instructor who is TOUGH. I was thinking it was just me, having less than 12 hours from the end of one class to the start of the next, but my SIL was commenting on how tough it was afterward, so that made me feel better. It's always good to know you're not just being wimpy!

Today I had a Slim Fast shake for breakfast. Lunch is going to be open faced tuna melt. And dinner is going to be grilled tenderloin because we didn't ever cook it yesterday. For snacks I've got cottage cheese and orange and then also 1/2c pistachios.

You've lost a lot of inches! I wish I had tracked mine. I'm not sure why the scale isn't reflecting that right now- but I'm sure it will soon. Good job keeping up with the spinning!

4 spin classes down for this week, one more to go on Saturday morning. And...I finally saw some movement on the scale! I had gone from a low of 190.2 after my 2nd spin class way back up to 195.8 and pretty much have stayed there. As of yesterday I am back down to 192.4 so I had a 3.4 pound loss since last week!

I am really trying to hone in on my eating. I think I have sort of been letting things slide without being tracked in the interest of "I really worked hard today spinning, I can eat this" and, well, it obviously wasn't working! I haven't done any of Jillian Michaels with DH. Not because I haven't had the energy but because I haven't had the time. We stay at my parents Monday and Wednesday evenings and I have spin those evenings so I'd have to do it in the morning before getting the girls up for school and for some reason I have a much easier time getting up at 5am and leaving the house to workout than getting up at the same time and going to my living room to workout. I'll have to work on it. In theory I should be able to hit the video in the mornings on my evening spin days (M,W) and in the evening on my morning spin days (T, Th) and then whenever I want on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. But then reality sets in and I just haven't gotten in that groove yet!
