I think it's because the recipe builder takes into account all of the carbs/protein/fat/fiber of the food that you're inputting and it calculates based off of that.

You could just put it into your points tracker and save it as a meal.

Ah, so it's not taking into account zero-point fruits? It's just weird because it had a zero by each of them but somehow made 1+2=10!

I don't get the recipe thing at all- it doesn't make sense to me that if I put broccoli in an omelet I get charged points but if I eat the same amount separate, it's 0 points. I think I'll ask what the deal is at my next mtg.

Yes, the Recipe Builder calculates the PPV of fruits and veggies too, because it uses the individual NI for each ingredient and aggregates them all. I think a way around this would be to just omit the zero-PPV foods from the recipe and see what you get. I'll ask my WW peeps tomorrow too.

I ended up just putting it all in separately so I wouldn't lose points over it...is that cheating?

I am all the way back down to 195 (on Friday morning I was 202 which I can only assume was fluids and lack of bowel movemen after surgery) so I guess starting today we'll see what I can do! I took measurements today and set Sunday as my weigh in day also.

Question-is it better to eat activity points or not? Just wondering what most people do. And also, if I don't end up eating my 49 flex points every week, that's ok, right? I figure I will this next week-my birthday is on Saturday and I am going out to eat for lunch that day.

I don't think it's cheating, but we'll have to see what the officials say!

I haven't been using all of my activity & flex points. Now that I realized that I wasn't counting lattes, I know that I've been using more flex points than I realized. I'm not perfect about measuring and I do still finish some of the boys food so my activity points are my slush fund to cover any small under-reporting. I've been using 20 or so flex points. Our anniv is this week and we're going out for a nice dinner next weekend so I think I'll use them all for the first time. I lost 9 pound in 6 weeks and ww says you should aim for 1 pound a week so I might be a little light on my points.

I haven't started much with the exercise yet-I think I am going to spend this month working my walking back up and them September is when I join a gym and really start in. Guess I'll experiment around with my activity points and see what works best for me.

Tonight is brown rice, spinach and raspberry salad and poached round steak. I am obsessive about trimming the fat off my big cuts of meat so it's pretty lean. John is worried that I took "all the good flavor" out with the fat but I'm hoping I seasoned it well!

It was really good. I just put like 2" of water in the crockpot and added tomatoes, carrots, some salt-less Mrs Dash and cut up two cloves of garlic and sort of embedded them into the meat. John didn't think it was blah or anything, even without the fat

so I'm done with dinner, AND dessert. And even with two small scoops of lowfat vanilla ice cream with my black bean brownies I still have 9 points left to use. I have this bad habit with foods that I've bought-I avoid using them because then they'll be gone (duh!) and I'll run out (no kidding, Tif. Buy more ) and I think I'm sort of applying that same thing to my points...I am avoiding using them during the day so I don't run out before I'm ready for bed because I KNOW I like to snack at night. But in the end I'm hungry for parts of the day and instead of grabbing a snack I just don't eat and now I've got leftover points

Guess I've got a bit of a learning curve here!

193.4 this morning! I'm not supposed to weigh in until Sunday and I even put the scale out in the garage, but I just needed to see that reassurance that things are working. I feel like for now I need to obsess a little bit because I am making big changes. Hopefully they'll become second nature soon though.

That's excellent!! I was thinking about ww all the time at first. Now, I still think about what I'm eating but it's not quite as consuming!

Great job! It is hard not to obsess about your weight when you are on a diet to help you lose weight...

    I have't either.

Do you have a gas grill? I'm so intimidated by our charcoal grill and I hate it because I never get grilled foods when my DH is gone and that's when I seem to want it the most.

We bought a grill in July-I had only ever used one probably 3 times before that. We went with gas because neither of us had any experience with them before. Around here pellet grills are all the rage-there is a local manufacturer in the town my parents live in and you aren't "really" grilling unless you have a Traeger pellet BBQ

I love ours. It's not the most high tech one out there, but for under $200 it's big(ger than we needed) and works so great!

So for breakfast I had a coscto knock-off SlimFast shake. Those are my go-to for mornings when I'm running late and, well...I slept in this morning and actually had somewhere to be!

Lunch was a BLT-delicious. I love spinach and use it instead of lettuce on my sandwiches and in my salads.

I've eaten like 2-3 cups of baby carrots today. I sprinkled them with the slightest amount of salt and it totally hit my salt craving without the unhealthy stuff that usually fills it (cheeze-its, peanuts, pretzels, etc...I'm not good at moderation with those. At all).

For dinner I had one slice of pizza and a breadstick. And more carrots

John and I did a video from our On Demand. It was just a 1 mile walk in 15 minutes. It was really relaxing and fun to do that with him. When we try to do walks outside with the girls and dog it becomes a trip to the park where we end up not walking, and our attention is on the girls. This was nice to be able to chat, kid around, etc while getting just the smallest bit of exercise. I think we're going to try and make it more of a habit.

After the walking I had a greek honey yogurt.

Hey that is an idea! I never thought of putting a little salt on my carrots to make them fullfil my need for a crunch and something salty! Thanks! Sounds like you are doing great.

I used to do my "Walk away the lbs" in the house too - when I was PG and the weather was bad. I need to get back to those - I forgot I had them until you mentioned that!

I've never heard of this- how do you find it? I take the boys out every morning but I'd like to walk more. DH just moved our treadmill into our office and I'm hoping he'll get it set up this weekend.

We have Comcast On Demand with our cable. I don't know if other cable companies have it or not. They have an ondemand channel called Exercise TV and in there they have a section with exercise videos. They have a 1m, 2m, and 3m walk one, plus a few other walk-at-home ones and a whole bunch of pilates, yoga, etc.
