Default 100 Pounds to a New ME!

Well, I've been here many of times with the same goal in mind...to lose weight!!! This time, it HAS to happen. I have a lot of support this time around and I THINK a better head on my shoulders. I am starting at 246 lbs. (the biggest I have ever been). My goal is to get to 150. I would love to weigh about 140, ultimately, but to get to 150 would make me VERY happy (and my hubby too)! I have three children 5 and under and need to do this for them. Having a mom with poor health is only hurting them! So here it goes...

Day 1: Beginning the WW diet (not attending meetings, I just have all of the stuff and use online tools), Exercise for today will consist of walking this evening. I am looking into a gym membership that I will attend with a sister-in-law (I need some serious cardio).

I didn't post on here for a day and it was kicked out of the Weight Loss section!

I totally forgot yesterday that I had created this, Wednesday!

I am doing great...this is Day 3 for me. I am using My Fitness Pal and was 205 calories under my allowed yesterday! I ate really well and was not hungry enough to finish those calories.

I am going to re-start my gym membership today! YAY!!! My sister-in-law and I will be working out mon-wed-fri of each week (and whatever weekend days we can). I am looking forward to having this extra tool and also having something else to hang over my head and hold me accountable for weight loss. If I know I will be paying 38$ a month, I BEST be getting to the gym! YAY!!!

All is well! I am having trouble taking in all of my alloted calories each day. I had a good full day of intake and even a bowl of cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats) after dinner and still managed to have 350+ calories left. MFP keeps telling me my body is going to go into starvation mode if I don't take in my recommended amount of calories each day. I am eating as much as my body feels like it, but maybe I need to eat heartier stuff?! IDK...I'll get it eventually.

Today is DAY 1 in the gym. I am a little nervous, as it does intimidate me. I can see the eyes on me like...Yeah, that fat girl NEEDS to be on the treadmill. Crazy I know...just my thoughts!!! :-\

Anywho...can't wait for my first weigh-in on Wednesday to see what progress I have made. My body feels out of whack the past few days! Guess it's just adjusting to the new eating habits. I have a UTI first off and I've been taking an antibiotic for that. Yesterday I started with kidney pain?!?! Confused on that one. Today I feel bloated! , to you BODY!!!

Yay for getting started at the gym. I know how you feel with the "gym complex". I totally get it. Usually everyone has rockin bods at the gym and it can be intimidating, but put in some headphones and forget the world around you!

Are you hungry with the lack of calories? I would adjust your meals a little bit to see if you can get a few extra calories in there. You don't want to starve your body!

    You're doing great!!!!

I hope the gym goes well. I'm finally over my gym phobia but can't quite kick my group workout phobia. I'm happy to plug in my headphones and do my own thing but the idea of a Zumba class or a cardio kickboxing class where I am not only the most out of shape but also obviously don't know the moves...I just can't get myself to do it!

I almost always have calories left with MFP. Something about eating healthier food makes me less hungry and then always getting that warning about starvation mode. I have always ignored it and felt like of I could look back on my day and see good healthy food and know I wasn't hungry, that's good.

    Thank you for your words!

I know I will eventually get over that phobia once I can gain some self-confidence. That is my problem...I am sure all eyes are not really ON ME, it's just in my head. Thanks again for your support!

I just replied on my blog as well but I do group classes all the time and will come forth and admit that I only need to lose about 15 lbs for goal weight so I am not in your boat. Though I DO understand how you feel about group classes. Just go there and block your mind off to what other people think of you....just pretend like there is nobody but you and the instructor and you have 1 hr to make a difference to how you are going to feel today. Good group classes can help you break routine and kick start your weight loss effort. There are muscles that you workout that you didn't even know existed. I also do eliptical and the treadmill but after a few weeks you will notice your weight loss halting becaue of routine.

That being said, Awesome job on getting to the gym, that is a first step that a lot of people can't get to...build up to group classes if you enjoy them and you will notice a bigger weight loss. I promise! Good luck

I was so intimidated going to the gym at first, but now I love it! It's the time I get each day that is just for me and all the rest of the world can go fly a kite It will get easier as you keep going, just stick to it!

Had a good time at the gym. Granted I only did the treadmill for about 23 minutes, a little over a mile. I wanted to ease into it. I was walking at 3.2 mph on a level 2.0 incline. I burned 141 calories. I produced some good sweat. Another thing I do not like about the gym is not knowing what to do next. I know I can't stay on the treadmill, bike, & elliptical forever. Part of me wants a personal trainer to tell me what to do, but I don't want to shell out the money for that. I know I can go up to each machine and it tells me what it does, but then I look like a dummy walking around to all of the machines reading. I need to just get over it and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks! It's a problem that I've gained since I've gained all my weight. I used to be a cheerleader, really outgoing, and didn't care what people thought of the fool I made of myself in public. Now...it's a totally different ball game, now that I'm fat!

This sucks!!! I know it will get better with time...I just wish it would hurry up!

Just what PP said, hang in there...it will get better. Getting in to the gym is a first step and once you get in the groove you will start liking it. Keep noticing people on the kind of exercises they are doing. I learnt a lot from them without having a trainer.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!

I don't know if every gym is like this, but you should if the trainers would be available to take you around to the machines and explain them. It helps to prevent injuries and it gives you knowledge of the equipment. I went to a gym where the trainers did this.

Well...today's 1 week, 1 day weigh in was a total shocker!

I must have had a lot of fluid on me. According to the same scale as last week...I'm down 10 lbs!!!

I know this is not going to be the norm and will taper off as I chug along, but it is definitely a self-esteem boost and a great start, for me!

I have been doing really well with charting (religiously) everything that I put into my mouth and trying to slowly increase my exercise. I feel great and can't wait to get the remaining 90 lbs. off!

    Thanks all!!!

I weighed again, today...still in disbelief and the number was just one number off from yesterday (it read 237)! LOL

I feel bloated today, and I didn't yesterday AND I'm wearing a semi-heavy blue jean jacket/shirt. Didn't want to strip at the work scale, LOL, so I left it on!

I was very pleased to see it wasn't a fluke!

I am suppsoed to go to the gym today, but forgot my shoes at home and my sister has plans this evening. Guess I am going to try to do a workout at home...I have a few dvds and I'm sure the kids would be happy to workout with me. Definitely going to get some sort of exercise in!

    Default Checking in...

Tomorrow is my official two-week weigh-in and I'm getting excited! I am still battling a UTI and I feel kind of bloated. I was not so good with my water intake this weekend. It was because I did not have my tumbler at home, so I struggled. I am back on the water train today and hoping to flush away some of this bloat before my weigh-in tomorrow. I also did not exercise any this weekend. I am hitting the gym today, tomorrow and Friday for sure. I am going to try to get some more exercise in on the weekends. I just feel so blah! When I think about getting up to do something, I just can't make myself get up. I started a new antibiotic for the UTI, got me some AZO, started taking B-12 vitamins and am hoping I can get out of this funk! Thanks for listening, girls!
