I totally know how you feel! I seem to recall saying something along the lines of I wouldn't care if I had morning sickness all day if I could just be pregnant. But alas,we are only human....

Maybe try some heat. I get an awful pain in my back too. Mine is on the right side, upper middle. Sometimes it will spread across all of my back too. Rubbing can help, but mostly only heat. Hope you can find something to make you feel better.

Hello Pregnant Friends!!! Rhonda I'm so thankful you started this thread! I love that we can all keep up with each other and let our tickers show proudly! I think it's fantastic there are so many of us that have graduated from the IVF room. It makes me so happy.

I can't believe how far along you all are - not seeing the tickers in the IVF room made me forget. It's so exciting you're all experiencing kicks, etc! I can't wait until we're at that stage.

Rhonda, how did your doctor's appointment go today? Did they confirm the pain is just stretching?

Sarah, Melissa, Sylvia, Katie, Rachel - Hello!!!!! I'm so glad you're doing so well.

In case you didn't see it in the other thread, we lost Baby B, but Baby A is doing great. She/he measured 8 weeks 6 days yesterday and had a HB of 175. No more signs of bleeding and I graduated to my OB - . I have an u/s scheduled with my OB next Thurs. My RE works down the hall from my OB and she'd (RE) like it if I were scanned weekly until we're through the 1st trimester. I'll call today or tomorrow to schedule my NT scan with a peri i was recommended to.

My m/s seems to have calmed down a bit. I think the trick is that I have to sit completely still right after I eat. I'm nauseous, but I seem to get sick only when I'm moving around - has any one else experienced that?

    Hi Michelle,
I am so sorry you lost baby B, but happy baby A is doing fine! Glad the m/s is getting better, or at least manageable. That is great that you are now with your ob! I am with the ob also now, but I have to go see a fetal medicine group for high risk. I am of advanced maternal age, lol. But I get a scan at 16 weeks then again at 20. It is nice that you will get weekly scans.

    Take it easy!

Sarah - I'll try some heat, bc rubbing doesn't seem to help. I bet the center pain is a nerve thing, too. I mentioned it in my yoga class last night and every single mom-to-be has the same pain!! I guess I am going to just have to make peace with it!

Michelle - Welcome! We've been waiting for you! Glad to hear the m/s is on the way out. Mine was short-lived, too, only a couple weeks and only queasiness (I was so lucky).

Don't you love seeing all the tickers?? I remember a lot of us being on the other side a year ago and longer and look at us now!

Really jealous of your weekly u/s's! Can't wait to hear how the next one goes. Are you getting pictures? I remember the little arm and leg buds at 9 weeks, but then by 12 it was looking like a real baby! It's just amazing how it all develops, and so quickly!

    Rhonda - Any updates?

Ladies I am reaching out for some positiveness here!!!! I have a friend that went through IVF and got her test results today POSITIVE but her HCG was 44.42 which they told her they really like for it to be higher than 50. Did anyone have these numbers and it continue to be a viable pregnancy?

Melissa, the first time I got PG my beta was under 50, and it didn't last. This time it was 247. I know this isn't really the positiveness you were looking for, but they always say over 5 is a BFP, so she should try to stay positive. You never know what will happen... Think of all those miracle babies that were behind and the chances weren't good, and they caught up.. Like your story, right?

Anyway, had to post to say your boys are SO CUTE!!!!!

She tested 9dp5t and I know my doc office (which is hers I referred her) tests earlier than most. They said they like for it to be higher than 50 but after some research I am finding some people that have had viable pregnancies after a lower hcg. Yes miracles do happen like Mr. Major who is kicking and screaming up a storm lol

Thanks, Sylvia! I was laughing because just after I finished posting, I had a wicked bout of morning sickness, so my theories are out the window! I was sick for the rest of the day and ended up dry-heaving outside Target into some bushes after dinner. I'm so happy to be sick I really don't care, though! I'm also going to see a peri for my NT screening at 12 weeks and then I get scanned again I think around 20 weeks (it might be earlier, not sure). I'm 38, which they also consider high risk. My RE says the NT scan should be fine, though, since all our genetic tests came back clear. I think I will be nervous if they want to do something more invasive. KUP on what your specialist says. Oh and congrats on being able to run! I can't wait to get the all clear to work out.

Sorry you're having so much pain. Can you do a little acupuncture to relax the nerve? I don't remember if you had an acupuncturist near you that you liked. I love this new thread and being able to watch all your tickets. I know - I'm so excited we've all graduated to being pregnant. It is such a joyful (and of course stressful) time. It makes everything seem so surreal. I believe my weekly ultrasounds will stop once I hit the 2nd trimester, but I'm addicted to them I swear! I got a picture yesterday, but couldn't make out the arm buds really (it was 2 days before 9 weeks and is a bit fuzzy). I'll be 10 weeks for my next scan and can't wait to see the progress.

Will do, Rachel! Are you an American living in the UK? Sorry if I missed that info earlier...My mom lives there half the year and my DH and I are working on moving over for a short period in a few years. We love it over there.

I've also heard that as long as it is over 5, a pregnancy can happen. It sounds like they tested early, according to your second post. Praying her numbers take a huge jump in 2 days. Praying for her.

Rhonda - how are you doing today? What'd the doctor say?

Melissa, it is draining. But as Michelle said 9 dpt is very early for beta numbers. The more important part is the increase over the next several tests. My first was 128, then next was only 167, I was positive it was a failure. But the nurse said it is a doubling over several tests, so your friend should not get disappointed.

Rachel, it may be your sciatic nerve? Maybe see about a chiropractor, it can't hurt.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone and Thank goodness for maternity pants so I can eat a lot of turkey!!

Michele- I'm really sorry about Baby B. It sounds like Baby A is a healthy one and we can expect an H&H pregnancy! Congrats! KUP on your scans and prenatal tests. So glad you found us...we were all missing you!

Rachael- Sorry about the back pain. I get it by late afternoon and evenings. I just deal with it. Haven't done heat because I fear I might fall asleep with my heating pad on and get my body temp up too high. Hope it gets better soon.

Melissa- I have a friend on another site who tested about the same time and hers was 24, but she's had 3 betas and it always doubles, so they are considering it a normal pregnancy. She isn't bleeding or having any signs of trouble either. I pray your friend gets out of the "red zone" soon and her numbers double like they should! I agree with the others that your clinic tests a couple of days early, so it makes sense that for some the number can be a bit low. Hers is not much under 50, so I'm sure there is a super chance it's a good pregnancy!

AFM-My appt was fast. I didn't complain about anything to my OB except the frequent urination. The vaginal discomfort had started calming down and didn't seem like as much of an issue. So, I figured if they just test my urine and tell me I have a UTI that would explain everything. Well, urine was normal - no UTI. Other than that, I had blood work (quad screening) and exam where I had maybe 5 minutes with OB who used doppler and found HB (last visit OB nurse couldn't find HB and had to go very low to pubic bone and finally got it). This visit HB was found up higher like 4 fingers below belly button. And HB was 140 which is much slower than in the past 2 months. So, my mind started playing tricks on me and I started to wonder if it was possible this is not the same baby from the last 2 appts!! Not likely, but then I remember how I couldn't understand how only 1 of my 2 perfect embryos implanted (day 3 embryos, both grade A+ and 12-cell - extremely perfect - so much that embryologist came to talk to me & DH and said he had NEVER seen such perfect day 3 embryos). Can you blame me for thinking the sonographer messed up by not detecting baby B in my initial u/s? It's a long shot, but I am still thinking about it as though it is a possibility! Guess it will just be a mystery until my next appt which is the lengthy gender u/s on Dec 20th! On the serious note, I know if I was having twins, things would be twice as miserable in regards to symptoms and likely even weight gain and belly growth, so I'm being logical and feel my possible theory will be a bust!

Hope EVERYONE of you ladies has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!! Much love & lots of to you all!

    Default Mayra's Miracles!!

I am sure Mayra (PurpleAvens) has her hands full with the babies born just last weekend, but I just wanted to share at least with the post-IVF girls these beautiful miracle babies!! Mayra had the twins early Saturday morning (was scheduled to go for c-sect the following Monday). Alec weighed 6lbs7oz and Vivian weighed 6lbs1oz. Both healthy and beautiful. Mayra did great though she was in some pain afterwards...go figure! I just wanted to say:

Mayra - I am soooo proud of you mamma!! You did it girl and I didn't expect anything less of you. Happy Thanksgiving to you & DH as this is likely going to be your most memorable holiday with these little blessings!!

Thanks, Rhonda. We're sad, but really just so thankful to have one healthy baby, I feel selfish being too sad about Baby B. I don't blame you at all for thinking it might be twins - you never know! It would be a wonderful surprise if you found it it was!

I have tried to respond to your messages, but for some reason, the site will not allow me to reply to you. Check your profile to make sure it is complete. Did you sign up to be a member? I wonder because your posts even look different than others that I have not problem getting & responding to their messages. I was so anxious to congratulate you and it was frustrating that you had no idea I was trying to respond back! LOL

So....CONGRATS!! I am so happy about your amazing story and your BFP!! Yes, of course I remember you dear!!! I appreciate your message and I want to learn more about your pregnancy! You must be thrilled!! I posted to you on the Clomid blog because that is where the old IVF Sisters got moved to along with some other threads. It was crazy when they tried to "clean up" the forums! I wish you a H&H 9 months. Are you posting to any DD rooms? I am dying to hear more about your pregnancy!!

Yeppers! How fun that your mom lives half the year here. I'd love to do that, but it's not practical for us now.

Yes, I think that is what it is.. It comes and goes, so I think it's the baby pressing on it, maybe? Is that possible. Unfortunately I'm so at a loss how to find a good chiropractor here..I will talk to my OB again about it on my next visit. She said once there isn't much you can do, just suffer..but I'll see if she refers me to someone.

Glad you don't have a UTI and hope the pain goes away soon. Don't worry about the HB being low..from what I understand the older the baby gets, the HR goes down..But, it would be a real treat if you suddenly found out at 20 weeks you had twins!! Didn't you do a 12 week nuchal scan, or did you decide to skip that since you used DE? When was your last u/s? Now I can't wait til the 20th..if nothing else just to find out what the LO's sex is!

I sure hope there is some hope for you and your OB comes up with another option or referal. I would hate it if you had to suffer and it doesn't get any better. That would just suck. My lower back has been killing me for 3+ days now. It is worse at night and wakes me up throughout the night. I'm starting to have that vaginal pressure/pain again, but not as bad as last week. I didn't mention it to my OB at my appt because it was gone by then, but I think I will call them this week since it is starting up again. Plus, like a few weeks ago, I feel pain around my ovaries. Another May DD said it was probably round ligaments. Maybe so. Anyway, I still have been dealing with irregular bowels and constipation (sorry TMI) and I often wonder if any of that has to do with my discomforts.

As for the twins theory...well, it's just wishful thinking on my part. I never really understood why one of my two perfect embryos didn't make it. I guess deep inside I just didn't accept that only one implanted, but I'm sure I'm WAY OFF with my theory. Plus, I'm not big enough to be preggo with twins and my symptoms would have probably been much more severe early on in the pregnancy.

I didn't have the NT scan. Turns out my OB doesn't offer that testing. They do the quad screening which I had done. We didn't have an US last week. I've only had the two early ones. My OB doesn't really consider me high risk, but he did talk to me at length about my Dx that resulted in me being on Lovenox for this entire pregnancy.

hi Ladies, my friends numbers doubled. I started crying and called her after she text me. I kind of feel like I have been going through the process again with her and I forgot how draining it could be (I realize this is not all about me lol but it brings back memories for sure) so still praying she continues to do good!

That's cool - thanks for letting me know. I hope you can find a good chiropracter and get some relief from the pain your experiencing!

Oh my, sounds like you've got a lot going on there, Rhonda. I'm sorry things are so uncomfortable! I'd give your doctor a call just to be sure. Hang in there!

I'm so happy for her! Praying things continue to go well for her!

AFM - I went into the doctor on Saturday because I had some spotting on Friday and I just wanted to make sure things were OK. We saw the baby wriggling around and waving an arm! It was so amazing! Everything else looked fine on the scan and the doctor thinks I might just spot throughout the pregnancy. Apparently both my mom and sister did. It freaks me out because it is so different each time it happens. Friday seemed worse than normal (which is why we went in on Saturday) but I have a feeling it was because I was throwing up so violently on Friday (it was the worst bout of morning sickness I've had so far). Luckily I have not been sick since Friday.

    Mel that is awesome!

Michele- So glad things are going well and you got to see your LO again. Some women have to deal with spotting throughout a pregnancy and as weird as it feels, they go to deliver healthy babies.

I feel crappy today in general. I am tired, headachy, tummy achy and think I might even have a little fever. I don't feel like going to doc, just going to bed. But today is DH's birthday and I have to get some energy as me & DD plan to take him to dinner. I just hope I feel better by then. Going back to work from a late lunch break...TTYL...

Thanks, Rhonda. Te doctor said that I just might be a spotter throughout the pregnancy. I think I just freaked out because it was heavier than normal. But with all the throwing up I was doing, I think that is what caused it, plus with the holidays, I was on my feet more than I've been lately. I hit 12 weeks on 12/15 and am just trying to lay low until then.

Sorry you're not feeling well! Were you able to rally for your DH's birthday dinner? I hope you get a chance to rent tonight and are feeling better.

AFM - just made my NT screening appointment for 12/17. Praying it goes well.

Michele, I bled for a day and then spotted nonstop for about 4 weeks from weeks 7-11 of my pregnancy. My doctor said the same thing, that I might just continue to spot, and it didn't mean anything is wrong with the baby. I had a couple extra u/s which confirmed the HB. Eventually the spotting stopped, and fortunately it hasn't returned. Everything looked great at our anatomy scan and I am 22 weeks and moving right along!! I know how scary it can be though, and I hope that the spotting stops soon just so you can have some peace of mind.

Thank you so much for telling me, Katie. It makes me feel better to know that this is normal for some women and I'm not the only one this happens to. I have not spotted since Friday and I'm hoping it stops all together. Congrats on being 22 weeks with a healthy baby! That's great. I hope to follow in your footsteps!

Hey ladies - question on morning sickness. When/how did it stop for you? I haven't gotten sick since Friday. I've had some nausea, but it has definitely tapered off. Just curious.

I have my first OB appointment today. Big step! Hope you're having a good day.

Hi ladies! How are you doing? I'm buried under snow over here and it hasn't been easy getting around. This extra load of weight and the lack of shovelled sidewalks doesn't help! But, enough complaining!

Rhonda - How are you feeling? I hope you were able to rally for DH's b'day.

Katie - Can't believe you are already 22 weeks.

Michelle - Sorry about the spotting, but you read a lot of ladies have the same issue and it's most often not a problem. I say always go get checked out if you are worried, though, because the peace of mind is better than extra stress worrying if you don't need to. Also, I didn't have m/s very badly - no vomiting, that is. However, I was really queasy and had stomach pains for a few weeks that were completely gone by 10 weeks..I started freaking out then, fearing for the worst and had an extra ultrasound at 11 weeks because I was so paranoid. There was no need to worry, I was just lucky and it went away early. Some people suffer way all through their pregnancies..so if you are feeling better, count yourself lucky!

When is your next u/s? Is it today with the OB?

AFM - Today is 26 weeks! Hooray!! I'm *almost* to the 3rd trimester, I can't believe it!!! I feel good, although today it feels like I'm stretching right under my bump, in my lower abdomen..I guess I probably am! My back pain is still coming and going, but it's been ok for the last few days, only giving me grief at night when I sit down or stand up from the couch.. As long as I'm stationary there isn't a problem!

Anyone having trouble sleeping? I can sleep ok and must be getting enough because I can function in the day, but I swear I toss and turn all night long. I try to sleep on my left side, but I don't know how many times I wake up in the middle of the night on my back, which is sooooo comfortable! And if I don't wake up on my back, I wake up with a numb arm or hand from sleeping on my side! I've been practicing this side sleeping since September and my body still hasn't gotten used to it!

Thanks, Rachel. I'm going in today at 1:45pm, so I'm going to ask my Dr. then. I was also a bit worried that it stopped out if the blue, but the ultrasound will make me feel better. Also, when did you stop taking progesterone? I'm going to ask her about that today, too. It would make me feel better to be on it until 12 weeks, but not sure if that is OK. Sorry about all the snow and the back pain! At least you get a break from it when you are sitting still. I was having trouble sleeping and my RE said it was all the hormones. I'm sure with you being almost in your 3rd trimester, you've got even more hormones surging. Congratulations on your 26 weeks!!! That is wonderful news!

Michelle, I took the progesterone and estrogen patches until 12 weeks. I tapered off progesterone the last few days, although my RE said I didn't need to. The estrogen I just stopped at 12 weeks exactly. Both my RE and OB recommended I stay on them til 12 weeks. I hated the progesterone, but I would have taken it for 40 weeks if I had to!

Oh, and at your appointment later! Can't wait for the update!!!
