I've been doing ok, lots of family stress going on right now, definitely thankful that we put off our next IUI until next cycle. I just started the 2ww for our last cycle on our own, we'll see what it brings! How's your 2ww going? When do you test/beta?

    Default HI All

I'm still new to this site & these forums. This looks like a good place for me to check in on. I've been doing IUI since December. I've had two miscarriages in a row. I just had a D&C last week. My embryos just aren't making it to the next stage. I did post about this and a low first beta in one of the other threads, if anyone's looking through different threads. My doctor will talk to us when the test results from the D&C come back. He says it now looks like I'm finally getting pregnant easily, though my egg quality may be poor, even too poor. I'm 41 yrs. I'm hoping for the best. It would be real nice not to have to switch to IVF, since it's more invasive and so very expensive. My insurance covers IUI, but not IVF. My doctor charges around 21k + meds per round. It's a difficult step for so many reasons, especially that. I wish insurance would cover it, at least in part. With so many people getting pregnant later in life these days.

So...BFN and AF for me So we went to see the RE on Wed and he recommended going ahead with the injectables. In the Femera cycles I was making a good number of eggs 2-3 each cycle, but my lining was always too thin between 7-9.
We have to take a class about the medication and such which is only done on Wed. But not every wed, so a cycle is wasted UGGHH! THEN Depending on when the next one starts, we have a vacation planned that might interfere with September's Cycle. So If everything goes as is, it looks like we will start injectables on October's Cycle. We are hopeful as the Doctor stated that about 80% of those who go through the injectable program do succeed in getting pregnant and having a live birth vs 50% on clomid/Femera. OF those 25% have twins!!! (Which we would be more than okay with)
So that is the plan for now. GL to all the STC girls and Baby dust to you all!

Looks like I'm jumping back in the IUI thread! Started Clomid 100mg last night, will start Brevelle 75mcg on Tuesday, u/s on Friday, then hopefully IUI sometime around the 23rd!

I'm sorry you have to miss a cycle, I totally understand how frustrating that can be. Hopefully the injectables are just what you need!

Sorry it has taken me a bit to get back on. I am going to do 150 follistim until the 8th, starting today, then I go in for more bloodwork/another US and may go on for another 3 days. Then I will trigger and do IUI. In the meantime, I am also taking ASA, Dexamethasone, PNV, B6, and Omega-3.

I will be doing an IUI with injects on my next cycle, probably starting next week. My paperwork says we will start out with 75iu of Follistim. I am taking repronex/menopur. They changed my protocol this time. Two shots, then one, two shots, then one, etc. As of Tuesday, I had 13 follies. I go back tomorrow to check again...

13 follicles is great! Was that your AFC, or maturing follicles? Good luck!

So I went in today for my second US of this cycle (just a routine follie check) I HAD 2 GOOD FOLLIES ON CD 8!!!!! So the IUI is TOMORROW! My mind is just racing right now, just a week ago I was worried that I wouldn't even get the chance to start injectables this cycle. Fingers crossed that this thing works!!

This room is so slow and not sure if anyone is around much anymore.

I was curious if anyone used low dose HCG injections along with their stims? My RE is afraid of me getting OHSS using injects with the way I responded to Clomid (I had 7 mature follies and a bunch of them in the teens at IUI time last cycle.)

So he ordered a low dose HCG for me this coming cycle. I'm not sure what dose of Follistim I'll be on but I have 600IU of it here in the auto injectors. I'm guessing either 50 or 75 IU daily, we'll see when CD3 comes.

The nurse said that the low dose HCG acts like LH and "holds you back a little." The vial was pre-mixed by my nurse and I have to draw it up and use an insulin syringe to inject it. On the vial it says to "inject 15cc daily."

Has anyone done anything like this or used the low dose HCG while stimming before? I am so nervous and hesitant to use it but I do trust my RE and understand his fears from my response to Clomid.

I can't do another cycle of Clomid, I have done 7 total and the symptoms are increasingly worse. I turn into a monster on it. I got mad at my DH and MIL because she asked for tomatoes from our garden and he gave her a bunch without asking me. I literally had a fit of rage and tears because I was going to use the tomatoes for sauce. Way over the top emotional and I can't handle myself, let alone my DH and family dealing with me on it.

Femara made me O but my progesterone was really low, so the O was not a good strong one. So it's not really an option either.

    Thanks so much in advance!

Sorry, I just saw your post. I hope you guys get the right combination of meds for your sticky little bean! Hopefully adding just a little HCG will be just right, 7 follies are a lot for IUI, my RE would have cancelled me if mine had counted that high. But it did work for you last time! When are you starting? My RE is having me take time off from meds/treatments in between the m/c and the next cycle to start. I'm kind of glad, DH and I have a couple of months to kind of get our lives back together, we've had a horrendously stressful 2011, definitely ready for this year to be over. I hope we see you back in a DD room soon!

Having an hcg drawn tomorrow 8 days post-ET. I'm so incredibly nervous and simply cannot muster any positivity to think that there is any chance I might actually be pregnant. Now I am just wondering how my nurse is going to call me with the negative results. Ick Ick Ick

I'm only on day 3 past IUI and I already had my emotional breakdown yesterday lol. I did femara on CD 3-7, 75 units of Menapur on Day 7 and 9 and 150units on day 10 through 15. Trigger on CD16 and IUI on CD18. The last u/s on CD16 I had 3 follies measuring at 16, 17 and 18 so I went into the IUI with the max amoung of 'mature' follies allowed. We are now also officially out of funds for any further fertility treatments and still have the bill from the IUI coming in the mail so I'm sort of emotional and all over the place about this cycle being a bust. Though it feels better getting all that out even though my freak out moment yesterday was WAY worse than I've ever had before lmao. Anyone else want to join me in here again?

I just felt the need to come in here and give you wonderful ladies some encouragement. We STC for for four years. I only had one ovary that worked and was older when we started trying. We had two missed m/c. Did a panel and found out I had MTHFR gene mutation. They put me on protocol for that. We did four IUI's and two resulted in pg for us and did a perfect IVF cycle that resulted in no baby (still paying on that loan). It was a long hard struggle and this thread was a sanctuary for me much of the time. My little miracle turns one this weekend. I was 41 when I had her. I just wanted to come give you encouragement and say that I hope you get your little miracle soon!

Hi ladies! I am stepping back in here ONE LAST time
We have 1 more IUI sperm sample on ice and have decided to give it its shot in December.

For those that don't know/remember me...I'm Katrina, I just turned 34. Jason and I have been married for 6 years...together for 10, he is 32.
We have severe male factor IF.
Once we found that out, after trying for almost a year on our own, we went to an RE.

I did 3 IUI's without meds or monitoring other than OPK's. Those were all BFN's.
I then did 2 IUI's on 100mg Clomid, no monitoring other than OPK's. BFN.
We decided to try one last time on Clomid but added a ultrasound and trigger to be sure we timed it right. We figured it wouldn't work and went ahead and bought injectables to use on the next try. That time actually worked and we had our triplets 31 weeks later

When the triplets were almost 18mo we decided to try again.
We went right back to 100mg Clomid, ultrasound and trigger but got a BFN.
We tried Clomid one more time but I didn't respond to it well, so we called off the IUI.
We next went ahead and used the injectables that we had bought before. I took 75IU of Menopur for 11 days, did the ultrasounds and trigger. We welcomed Jericho 39 weeks later

We are now set to try one last time. I had a friend give me an unused 900IU Gonal F pen that she didn't need. I will be doing the 75IU dose again I'm sure, but haven't yet chatted with my RE about it.

So anyway...hello to everyone, lots of BFP dust going out!

I have not used Gonal F before...anyone else here experienced with it, any info you care to share?

Hello, first time in here background information, DH and I had our first daughter naturally back in 2009 and we always planned to expand our family, but then in June 2012 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He had his left testicle removed and then started Chemo in October and finished up Dec 21. (yea!) we did bank sperm before he started, although he had a low count, they divided it into four samples. we don't know if he is sterile yet (from the chemo), but we're looking into IUI because even if he isn't, we have to wait 2 years to TTC naturally because of the chemo. We don't know anything about this process I don't know where to begin, I'm looking for advise or suggestions, anything would be welcome! Good luck to all of you Ladies!!

Had my first iui today .....
    Hi,

So I had my first iui this morning and am wondering if anyone on here can help me with concerns.
I guess it was a little more difficult this morning because my cervix wasn't cooperating the doctor had to move it around a bit and then switched to another softer catheter and then got it done we also found out that my boyfriends sperm gets clumped so that could have been a concern but the wash fixed it today anyways I do have a concern with what they said about sperm and the way my cervix was being difficult but praying everything worked today then I'm also feeling so much cramping still and constipated.
Anyone who has had this done and they might have something to say I would appreciate it thank you very much
