Is that just a zig-zag stitch around the edge? I want to make some "cute" wipes for baby #2 (just cut up receiving blankets for DS and didn't know how to sew at the time so they are wonderfully stringy on the edges ). I kept thinking I needed a serger, but maybe MIL's 30+ yr old sewing machine will do the trick afterall??

Yup that's just a zig zag. I've gotten a zig zag to look pretty good depending on the width between each one.

A friend of mine called me this morning and asked me to make her something for a baby shower tomorrow! Ive been wanting to try to make a rag quilt so here's my first, its more like a lovey size and has a matching headband and bow

I had no idea how to do anything on a sewing machine until a few months ago. I got a sewing machine for x-mas and just started using it for the diapers. I have had a lot of help from my sister, but after a few you get the hang of it. I was surprised I was able to do it!!!

Think I might have to drag out my 5 sewing machine's.....(yea I know) and see .If I can put together one that will work.Because I think I might try my hand at making 1 diaper.Let's just hope it looks some what like a diaper.

the best diaper pattern I've ever found.
Gives lots of options so you can choose what kind of diaper you want. Also gives step by step instruction. Adn fabric suggestions as well a how many layers for the soakers. And it's laid out like a pattern you'd buy from the store.

I just love it. I'm so not creative or imaginative, so having somethign that tells me step by step what to do and I dont' have to think is perfect for me.

I don't have a picture, but I just completed my first stash of cloth wipes. Super easy! I just had to remind myself to not worry too much about perfection on the first couple I did (novice sewer, so some of the zig zagging is crooked). It is going to be wiping baby's butt after all
