Orphan - The first 5 minutes there is a still birth.

    It's a thriller/suspense/horror movie.

I'm so glad this one was mentioned. It's such a tiny little scene. It almost seems poked in there and doesn't really make the story flow any better. Just the same I sure did notice it and cried....thankfully in a dark theater.

I know it will sound a little crazy, but....

Kill Bill, vol. 1 - (m/c, infant loss)?

I saw this movie just a couple of months after losing DD#1 (no HB @ 19 wk u/s, followed by a traumatic D&C, not given the option to deliver) and the scene where Uma Thurman comes out of the coma caused me to have a breakdown and have to leave the theater. I thought I'd include it even though it's pretty old because it's just not one you'd think would be touchy like that.

Just saw this and thought I'd add a novel...
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, a main character has multiple miscarriages. It's extremely poignant and heartbreaking (the whole novel is-it was too sad for me to even finish for other reasons). It had been 2 years after my mc but I lost it.

CSI- there are a few episodes in all 3 of the versions of this involving miscarriages or infertility and possibly even infant death.
HOUSE- it's majority of season 5, it has made me cry countless times. Used to be my favorite show. I had to quit watching it all together in fear of bursting out in tears.

DH and I finally watched this one for the first time this week. I thought I was strong enough, but it still brought me (and DH) to tears.

    Maybe Baby

It's a random movie that's on Netflix instant watch now. It's all about infertility and STC and failed IVF, and...

    (spoiler alert)

and even though I hoped they succeeded in the end, they didn't. They didn't give up and it's more about coming to terms with it and a bit of hope, but they still didn't succeed by the end.

It's not a well known movie, so this warning may be moot, but I just thought I'd warn anyone else here that, like me, just happens across it on Netflix late one night!

I can't bring myself to watch How I Met Your Mother, now that Lilly's pg, and it totally sucks, because I love that show! That and Grey's Anatomy...

@mommaduck I thought it was 5. One Johnny knew about and four he didn't. I loved her character soooo much. She was amazingly innocent and untainted by the times. I can't wait to watch the movie.

Courageous. My husband and I watched it together and I was in tears almost the entire time. It has been almost 6 years since my loss, but I think of my baby love often.

The tv show 'rescue me' has one scene involving child death that is very graphic. I'm not sure which season or episode but the entire series revolves around loss of loved ones .

Hi everyone, its been awhile! When I went through my m/c last year, a friend put a nice gift bag together with funny movies, and I thought it was wonderful. I'm doing the same now for a friend who just started m/c-ing, and I got a couple of movies, and just want to make sure that I haven't overlooked any pg/baby/mc scenes...
    When Harry Met Sally
    Bruce Almighty

Does anyone remember if these have any potentially upsetting scenes?
    Thanks!

I'm pretty certain that When Harry Met Sally is fine. I can remember quite a bit about that movie, but I'm not sure about Bruce Almighty.

I think that's such a sweet thing you're doing. So thoughtful!
