Yes, and yes! yes! yes! Ugh. I'm just going to stick to here and TTC APL (and hopefull a due date room soon!). I really, really meant to stay away, but I couldn't stop thinking about the one post and the only way I could stop was to respond. I'm sure it was a bad idea, and I'm not even going to see what carnage THAT caused

The hard thing is some women are very much it is a child not a choice and others are it is the woman's body so it is her choice. Many of us will never agree. I made 1 comment and left. I have peaked through and it hasn't gotten too out of hand. I just know we will not be able to change each other's minds. The topic is too controversial.

Mary - Glad you got some oreos! lol Sorry they are mint and not to baby #2's liking.

So I opened my big mouth in the abortion thread. But I did edit myself a little. lol. People were saying that if abortion were not legal, people would be attempting it themselves in a dangerous way. Ummm... this might sound harsh, but you know what? If someone was trying to murder a child and they killed themselves in the process, it would NOT make me think "Gosh, we should just legalize murder then so we can make it safer and more sanitary for the killer." I'm not saying I would be happy that they died, at all. It would be a tragic situation all the way around. But I certainly wouldn't sympathize with the killer more than the child in that situation.

But I didn't say that in there. I was a good girl and restrained myself.

In other news, I think I might live. I'm feeling better today. Not 100%, but a whole lot better than yesterday!

Polly glad you are feeling better. Stinks not feeling good and having to care for little ones.

I am trying to not sound crazy and yet still make the point that abortion is wrong. I always thing there may be someone reading that does not post and may see the thread and think one more time about making the choice to terminate. I can only hope.

This morning has started with a bang. My brother called and has been called on a job about 1 1/2 hours away for 3 days. He has nothing with him so he called to see if I would get his clothes together and bring them to him. So I went to his house a street away from me and got it all and am doing his laundry and then packing up Evan and taking the ride with my mom. Dh is taking Mason with him today...

    I love a good drive...

Agreed. This is supposed to be a safe place for Christian moms to discuss their views without others intruding.

Ack. Glad I checked the thread before posting my reply. I had a whole response ready because what was said didn't accurately reflect what I said in here, and I felt the need to clarify. I guess now I don't have to. lol

    Thanks Traci.

So I am feeling better today, but apparently my body is still suffering from some side effects. My abdominal muscles are sore, not like body ache sore, they hurt like I've been exercising them? Not sure why. And also I seem to be additionally klutzy today. I've been breaking/dropping/spilling/loosing stuff left and right all.day. Its driving me crazy.

Eh, I don't mind everyone reading here. It is an open forum, after all. Yeah, this room is a "safe" place for us to talk with other Christian women. But that doesn't mean that others aren't reading. Heck, I stalk the secular room sometimes! Guilty as charged! I like seeing everyone's perspectives and what makes them tick.

I don't mind other people reading here. I just don't appreciate mentioning or quoting what we post here in other areas, especially when they are about controversial issues and posted here because its our place to discuss things we are like minded about.

I do appreciate that the post we are discussing was taken down and the issue was resolved.

I don't mind anyone reading.. but they should not be allowed to cross post anyone else words, With credit or not..

It is an open forum.. I am thinking of starting a Christian one that is not open to everyone but just women of like mindedness so there is some freedom to chat..

Sooo I rarely ever go to random and I didn't see the post that you all are talking about but I wanted to share something that I learned in my college Sociology class that I found rather interesting. The abortion issue in this country became an issue bc doctors used it as a way to get clients and credibility. At least that's what I remember from the book we read - college was more years ago than I care to admit.

It was. I wish I still had the book as I would love to reread it again, but I sold it to get money to buy books for the following semester.

Me too! I read somewhere that someone spends like $1200 a month on groceries. She has 2 teenage boys! I told God I will happily accept another boy, but if I could have a girl to keep the cost of groceries down I would love that!

lol i couldn't resist posting in the abortion thread. no one seemed to notice that i said anything though... they were too busy quoting and aggreeing with others that are pro-choice. and jumping tracilyn for saying something that could have even remotely been construed as christian..

anyways... do yall mind if i ask this in here? what do yall (as christians, non-christians peeking in on this post need not reply) think about abortions for rape? i used to think "oh well in THAT situation...." but then i read a woman's story in guidpost's. she was raped and got pg. i can't remember the story very well but somehow she knew it was the rapist's child... she struggled with what to do and eventually she told her dh that she couldn't punish the child for it's father's actions and she decided to have the child. she was scared of what dh would say but he was all for it and basically said he is glad that she decided to keep THEIR child! it totally changed my outlook on the matter. i know that if i was raped and got pg, i would def keep the child.

I am against it in all instances. I have read many stories of woman who have had children in those instances and have either kept the child or gave the child up for adoption. Every time the woman said the child helped her heal from the violence. I know many people will disagree with me and that is their business. I feel every child, no matter how they were created, is a gift. I was adopted and have no idea about how I was conceived. All I know is my biological loved me enough to give me to a loving family. I see abortion as purely selfish. People can rant and hate me all they want, but that is what it boils down to. Pure selfishness.

I'm against abortion, even if the woman was raped. I think that baby has a right to a chance at life, no matter how it was concieved. And I think every baby is a blessing, even if the circumstances of conception were horrific.

It's such a tough thing though. I personally wouldn't have an abortion, even if I was raped. But I've also never been raped. I don't know how awful it is. So while I don't think it's right to abort the baby, I also have a lot of compassion for the mom, and wouldn't judge her for doing what she felt she had to. It's such a sad situation.

I am also against abortion even in rape circumstances. What a horrible heartbreaking situation though. I was raped (forcefully but not violently) and I would have kept the baby, but I can't imagine how gut wrenching those 9 months would have been. I also believe that, like PP said, it could be a source of healing, even though that's hard to imagine.

The thing I always keep in mind with abortion is "If this were a 2 year old, would I approve killing them due to the mother's circumstances?" I believe life begins at conception, and therefore at that point, the value of that life is just as important as they are after birth.

Rape is a horrible, ugly, evil thing. Some women experience it in much worse ways than I did. My heart cries for them. I just can't justify adding another tragedy to it by killing an innocent life.

    Polly:

Another problem I have is many young girls are not given all their options. Many are told abortion is the only option they have. They are not given adoption as an option. I have had a friend who has has a couple of abortions and adoption was not even offered to her. I don't understand why that is never given as an option.

Ladies, I desperately need your prayers. I was going to keep this to myself until I was in the 2nd trimester, but I'm pregnant again. Unfortunately, I started spotting yesterday at 4 weeks exactly. Please keep my little baby in your prayers.
