I watch him every once in a while. I like his radio show- although I haven't listened in a year or two cause I'm rarely in the car. I didn't watch tonight though.
Oh and about the other thread- I know my opinion was different from most of y'alls, but I assure you, I know what it means to live for Jesus daily and I'm not just checking a religion box.![]()
Anyone watching the World Cup? My DH used to play soccer and he's totally obsessed.I'm actually getting into it too- since we've gotten married I've let myself get interested in soccer and football (or futbol and football
)- it gives us something to do together.
No worries, Anna! We are all allowed to have our beliefs! I just get riled up when it turns into a "you're allowed your opinion, as long as its mine" thread.
DH has the World Cup on every once and a while. I don't really know whats going on with it though, other than I heard about the situation with that one ref and costing the US a possible winning goal.
I've never watched, but listened a few times and he's a little too conspiratorial for me.
I used to listen to talk radio a lot more, back when Bush was in office, because the shows were more positive. Now it seems all they do is complain (and sometimes find the silliest things to make a big deal about) and I just don't want that negativity right now.![]()
DH got his company van today!WITH a company gas card!!
No more stressing over whether to spend our money on gas to get to work, or food. I am so relieved! At one point we were budgeting $700+ a month for gas!
Just in time, too. Our truck has the gas light on.
Also, MIL called yesterday. DH had it on speaker so I heard the whole thing. She was giving her $2.02 cents about the situation when we lived with DH's brother. Obviously she's heard an earful of twisted stories and flat out lies from my soon to be SILs. I don't know if she was trying to fix it? Or just enjoys being in the middle. It seriously ticked me off listening to everything she was saying. On a positive note, the apartment was spotless by the time DH hung up. (I tend to clean like a maniac when I'm irritated)
Yay for a company car!!!I wish my DH had one- I'd get to get out of the house!
about MIL.
I have alot of catching up to do!
ayles - I am doing MUCH better! Thx for praying for me. I think that's exactly what I needed. I've taken A to VBS this week which is tiring after a long day at work and then she wont' get off my hip so I'm lugging around 25+lbs. But, it is nice to get out for a bit & sing/dance with kids about Jesus. And I'm super happy that you all are safe after your near-miss!
And I don't mind Glenn Beck. DH actually has read parts of his book but that's just Jason. I don't watch him but I don't watch alot of news. But, if I do, it's Fox News.
Polly - about the threads you have mentioned...I purposely did not answer. I read the first post, read a few more, and then backed out. My thoughts are that this isn't the place to try to convince people to learn about Christian viewpoints through our opinions/posts. But, I will say this about you & some others, though, I think that many non-Christian folks here take notice of you & your stand & your thoughts/beliefs and really respect you. I think that is your way of spreading the word about Jesus on here. Oh yeah - I cannot believe your MIL/SIL are being such butts!!![]()
So, I put a little thing on FB about what is happening at work, but wanted to kinda release some frustrations.
Yesterday, my supv at my corporate office called and asked if I could work on a jobsite for 6+ months. The jobsite is 2 hours away so I'd have to stay up there since I couldn't drive it. She explained to her supv that I have a child but his response was "well, that doesn't matter. what matters is if she can travel. We need people who can travel." I can tell that he doesn't have children.
The kicker is that I would still have to do my current job(s), still receive the same pay, spend even less time with DD and zero time with DH, and be in a hostile environment because the Superintendent does not want me there - he wants his sister there instead. The bonus? Per Diem - which I would be spending in hotel/food/live-in nanny costs.
So, she told me to think about it & let her know this morning. I had a VP call me & he was irate that they would ask me to do this and said that he was going to fight for me when he talked to her. So, she called me this morning and I told her that since ICI is sending my husband out of town for 3 months at the same time that I just couldn't because my daughter cannot be home by herself. I physically cannot do it. And you know what - I don't want to do it. This job is not worth ruining my family life for; I hate this place anyway & want to be laid off.
But...it still aggravates me that they are threatening my job if I don't agree to give up everything for ICI. The song "Take this job & shove it" is coming to my mind.
Thx for getting this far in my frustrations.I know that whatever happens, will happen, and no matter what - everything will be good & how God wants it. I just find this company frustrating & needed to complain a bit.
Wow, that's completely unreasonable for them to expect that of you. I'm sorry.![]()
Thank you. I think its unreasonable as well. Maybe this is God's way of shoving me into the world of being a SAHM which I want so incredibly bad & pray for just about every single day. But, yeah - it still irks me that the company are being like that.
And Polly - btw - YAY! for a company vehicle. That is a huge blessing for you two in so many ways!! Jason has had a company vehicle for 5 years with a gas card and we're a 1 car family because of it. 1 car= 1 car payment, 1 insurance bill, and less gas costs. Very much a blessing!!
Carrie~ Romans 8:28 hon![]()
Beloved, if God has loved us so we also ought to love one another. ~1 John 4:11
Very true!! And I have faith that regardless of what happens that, it'll all work out.
God knows that I can't quit for several reasons and I also know that He gives us the desires of our heart when we delight in Him fully. So, I keep praying for a way that I will get laid off instead. I don't know how He plans on fulfilling my desire to stay at home with A & maybe this is it. Only time will tell.![]()
wait what thread in random? I'm curious now lol![]()
"here's to the memories, these are my souvenirs" Switchfoot
ladies. I got to have a long conversation online last night with Polly. It was so needed! Ugh I hate financial stress. DH is looking into getting a 2nd job. We need the money and I am totally supporting him, but bleh on less time with him!
Polly: Yay for company vehicles.to your MIL
Carrie:to your company.
Bekah: I'm not sure you are going to want to poke in there, but don't say I didn't warn ya!
Anna: You can have my opinion and then everything will work out just fine!Just kidding.
DS1 4 DS2 2 Expecting 10-13
Yeah. I don't mind controversy. I just get tired of one side getting flamed while the other is golden, kwim? If we all disagree, that's fine! Just tired of being called ignorant, intolerant and judgmental for my views.
looks like you found it!
Carrie - That is unbelievable. Is that even legal?? I really do hope you can be a SAHM soon.![]()
I know, but he isn't working the overtime like he was and we REALLY need the money. I just had to e-mail our landlady to see if we can pay half of our rent on this pay check and the other half on our next pay check.I hate having to do this, but we really have tons of other bills that are all due this pay period!
