SWEET! Baby isn't due for another 2 months, but we just found out we got a spot for child care at our church's Early Childhood Center! For me, going back to work isn't ideal, but since that isn't the question, I am just so happy our baby will be taken care of in an environment I KNOW shares the same morals that DH and I have.

    SO HAPPY!!!

I also love your new siggy, Polly.

Is everyone doing ok? It has been a bit quiet in this thread lately.

    Thanks, girls.

Things are good here. Its soooo nice not being pregnant any more. I feel great! I want to go out and do a bunch of stuff, because its been a long time since I've felt up to it. But I am reminded every time I go out with a newborn that just because *I* am feeling up to it, doesn't mean my baby is. But we have still had a lot more time out of the house, and I've made it a priority to spend more time being together as a family, and spending time with my husband.

    How is everyone else doing?

Good, but busy and tired. I think that's going to be a constant refrain from me for a while.

That's really my story, too! I am still a bit sad about the miscarriage but like I've said before I can't imagine not feeling a bit of sorrow over that.

We are going with a church plant (not really a true plant but a new campus for our church). It is an exciting time!

    Jessica, I am so sorry

What do you mean you are going with a church plant? I may have missed something. Are you going to join a church that is a plant?

We started at my church when it was just at one location. Then we went with the first "campus" as we call them. There is a campus pastor but most sermons are shown via video streaming or taped the night before (we have Saturday and Sunday services). Rarely it is live. Now the church has seven campuses, I think, and we are going with the latest one. It's like a new church minus the teaching pastor. Everything is live except the sermon.

Our church also does true plants (I've totally lost count - probably 50 in the last 10 years) but those generally are not as close to the oritinal church as the campuses. We live 45 minutes from the original church, 30 minutes from the first plant, 1 hour from the third plant and this last plant is the closest to our house at about 20 minutes away. I'm not sure how they decide campus vs plant (it's more than just having a pastor prepared, I think). Clearly all church plants have complete autonomy while campuses do not. Plants are as far away as other countries but some are within an hour or two of the original church.

This. Preparing myself mentally for becoming a mother. I was just reminded that I need to wash the baby clothes and blankets BEFORE he gets here.

    How is everyone doing?
I am in the process of decorating the boys playroom that will also be their homeschooling room.

I am taking a lot of inspiration from this room.http://designdazzle.blogspot.com/201...play-room.html Though ours is not this large, i'm still using a lot of idea's. I am using the yellow for part of the walls. And the orange color for another part. I have the fabrics already which have the yellow, orange, green, white, brown in them. I am doing the magnet wall. I'm also doing a beg board wall that can hold artwork or projects. I'm having built in desks and bookshelves. So part of the room will be homeschooling/craft..and part of the room will be the train table and play. I'm so excited!!!

I'm also planning Micah's first birthday. I can't believe it! He'll be one May 25th. I'm doing a cookie monster themed pool party. I just ordered the invites, yes i'm way behind on that already, LOL...But it should be fun.

Anyone else doing anything fun right now?

I haven't been in here a lot lately, but was just checking on how everyone was doing in here. Seems this thread isn't getting a lot of attention lately. ;)

LOL! True..true! I don't have the time to get on here often, but I was surprised this time because there has been almost no action this month. I guess since it's summer vacation for a lot of kids, that would make sense!

Yeah, new baby and active preschooler are my reasons, too. I only have snippets of time here and there now.

Lily is in VBS for the first time this week. She LOVES it. She cries during the drive home every day because she doesn't want to leave. Her teachers say she is doing great in the classroom setting. I can't believe she is such a big girl now!

yes I've not been on here for a long while. The weeks just go so fast. Rudy says I run a tight ship during the day with the boys routines, housework, cooking, errands, working out...etc...etc. That I get little time for apa anymore. But I try to visit every so often to catch up.

It has been so hot here! Are you ladies also experiencing hotter than normal days? I live by Lake Michigan which usually keeps us no hotter than the 80's in the summer. Even at the lake we've been reaching the 100's.

I am so not made for heat like this.

Yes, we are having very hot days. I really do not like heat at all. We've been spending a lot of tim indoors, and when we go out, we play with the water table, sprinkler, or baby pool. My backyard is all shady, and yet, it's still too hot!

Soooo hot! It's supposed to be 100/101 today! We live near Lake Michigan, too, and when we first moved here, the summer days were usually in the 80s. I had the a/c set to 79 yesterday and it didn't get below 81 in the house. I think I'm not going to like my next electric bill!!

Im afraid of what our next bill will be, too. Ugh. Very hot here as well. We have been setting heat records all over the place. A highway close to us buckled from the heat and had to be closed. An older lady passed out after church on Sunday and they had to call the paramedics and clear out the sanctuary for her.
And this is not near us, but did you hear that it got so hot in Washington DC that a plane actually sunk into the tarmac??

Yikes! A plane sunk into the tarmac - that is crazy! It's cooled down a bit for a few days but we are supposed to be very hot again by the weekend.
